Breakfast. :)

What does everyone eat for breakfast? I’m looking for some ideas. Any chefs out there? For me this is the hardest meal of the day. Thanks.

Eggs, sausage, steak, smoked salmon hash, cornbeef hash, eggs benedict, pancakes the list goes on. Omelets are probably the most versatile thing for a T-man as you can fill it with whatever fits your diet.

Right now? Scrambled eggs w/LF Swiss cheese, 2oz Spinach, 1tbsp Fish Oil. ~420Cal, 27gF, 16gC, 34gP. The spinach I throw in there for the Poliquin effect. I’m to the point now where I graze on raw greens like a herbivore. Spinach, Broccoli, Green Beans, Snap Peas, etc, etc.

Nk: why, tuna mixed with ketchup, of course…hee hee hee. Just kiddin’

Actually my favorite breakfast of all time is still oatmeal - and I like to mix an egg in, too. And, forgive me, John Berardi: I love a good bagel, too. Malto Meal is another choice, so is Cheerios (but I have to eat two BEEG bowls for it to satiate me!). If we eat out for breakfast it's steak and eggs. For Football Sundays, sometimes it's my special "sausage, potato, apple waffles". One of them waffles is a meal in itself. YUM!

Eggs benedict! Yum. I haven’t eaten those in years. Is there ary way to make the bechamel sauce without flour? If I even look at plain flour I start to get fat.

One of my favorites that I eat on the weekend is oatmeal cooked with eggwhites. Cook up some oatmeal like you normally would, then mix it in a bowl with some liquid eggs whites (I use about half a carton) plus a whole egg (optional, but it makes it really tasty). Put a non-stick pan over medium heat and melt a tiny amount of butter in the pan. Dump the mixture into the pan and stir constantly with a rubber spatula to keep the texture of the eggs smooth. It’s cooked when you no longer see liquid and the mixture is thickened. Spoon it into a bowl and add whatever you like. I like in cinnamon, nutmeg, dried fruit, some almonds and Splenda.

When I don't have time to cook my next favorite is cottage cheese, a scoop of vanilla protein powder, and a can of drained fruit.

I think it’s a hollondaise, not a bechemel. Wrong mother sauce  Fortunately hollondaise has no carbs in it…

A can of tuna - yes a can of tuna at 7.00am
A big bowl of natural oatmeal (85-100g dry).
25g of a protein blend mixed in the oats. (LC Grow! or Isomatrix)

Protein shakes. If I have time, I’ll eat a nice, fat 4-6 egg omlette.

One Banana
1/2 cup oatmeal
3 scoops protein powder
5 ice cubes
3 heaping tablespoons of cottage chesse
3 tablesspoons of applesauce
8 oz cold water
Heat oatmeal w/some water in microwave, let cool
Peel banana
Put all items in blender and mix
Drink up…

It is Hollandaise, not a Bechamel. No flour, just lots of butter (it is basically a cooked mayonaise). As a rule of thumb, 8oz of butter per egg yolk. Its more technique that a recipe so its kind of hard to describe it witht pictures.

Thanks for clearing that up for me guys. No wonder my eggs benedict never tasted as good as the real deal!!! I’ll have to give it a try again.

I got two big post workouts SAT or SUN breakfast meals that I love. They are high carb some protein.

Whole-wheat pancakes made with egg whites, oatmeal and apple sauce instead of butter. Maple syrup.

Whole wheat French toast with egg whites or eggbeaters. Add cinnamon.

Add fruit and side of egg whites.
Hearty and I feel like I just got away with a binge at waffle house.

2 scoops Low-Carb grow mized with 12 oz. water, 3 slices wood-chipper bread with 1 tbsp. honey, and 5 prunes. Yes, five. Never, NEVER four or six.

4-6 eggs, 5g Salmon Oil, 1/2 kilo of peas!

OR

for cardio days I have a tin of Salmon with some coffee.

Adkins low carb pancakes. The directions say they make two servings but I eat them all. They are better than you think and have no soy like other low carb pancake mixes.

4-6 eggs with 2-3 yolks removed scrambled with low fat or non fat cheese and a cup or two of mixed veggies. Salsa on top.

2-3 fried eggs in a bit of butter. Heat up a slice of lean ham in the same pan.

Protein drink, lately it’s 2 scoops of vanilla flavored milk protein isolate in skim milk. Generally I eat a piece of fruit like an apple with that one.

I tried oats and its just not my thing. All my life I had Kellogs Corn Flakes. Its all I ever knew. So I have 2 cups of corn flakes (I know I know, its not the best for you), 2 cups of skim milk, 1 or 2 bananas, and 3 to 6 hard boil eggs (whites and yoke).

In a blender combine: 1/2 cup cottage cheese, 1-2 tablespoons all- natural peanut butter, 40-50 grams worth of your fav. protein powder, 2 ice cubes, splenda and cinnamon to taste, all of this into 16 oz. of water. Unreal!!! I have this while I’m on my T-Dawg diet. Couldn’t live without it!!!

How do I always forget about oatmeal? I don’t know if I trust anyone who puts ketchup with their tuna? Pretty freaky. Heheh. Lets change the course of the thread a bit by adding two new criteria. They are something that can be kept down easy in the morning and something that doesn’t take a hour to make. I know tall order. But just ideas. So far everyone thanks for all the replies.

If it’s the hardest meal of the day because you’re pressed for time in the morning before you go to work, try this: 1 cup liquid egg whites (any brand), 1 cup frozen chopped broccoli, and some of that Mrs Dash Extra Spicy seasoning. Pan fry it over medium heat and serve over a slice of spelt bread. Top it all off with hot sauce and you’re done! It’s fast, extremely easy, and it tastes awesome!
