…which goes to show just how much size you need to have BEFORE EVER DIETING for it to look that impressive. This guy is no doubt hitting close to 250lbs in the off season but drops all of the way under 190 just to be contest ready.

That is why people who put limits on the body weight they “think” will look good is a dumb move.

Exactly. This is why I decided to gain size all last year before even thinking of dieting down. I just didn’t want to realize that I only had like 170 of LBM on me.

Mmmmm.

My claim that a lot of members on this board could diet down to 90kgs with that BF percentage might be questionable.

That sucks though.

10% at 233 and 4% at around 190?

Ouch.

How much of that is water and immediately snaps back on after competition?

From what I’ve seen…about 20lbs for most bigger guys.

Most of the guys I have known who ever did NPC (I’ve know 4) lost about 40-50lbs to get contest ready…and that is after starting the diet already looking more impressive than anyone showing pics on this site.

It means if my goal is to look stage ready at 230lbs, I had better be carrying a very solid 260lbs with abs already showing before dieting, maybe more. Most of the guys who are competing at 250lbs are well over 300lbs in the off season.

That is why we laugh at those guys who claim they are going to compete when they weigh all of 190lbs at 6 feet tall in the off season yet they think they are already stage ready and can win an NPC contest.

To look like that, you have to be holding much more size and looking good before dropping back to that weight.

That is the main reason why I spent so much time working on size alone. You have to be a fucking house in the off season to look that ripped as a heavy weight or super heavy in NPC.

looks alot like Dex,should go places with a build like that.

I think i read it was the same for Stan Mcquay. He was something like 230lbs in the off season. Now he’s making moolah training Dr. Dre.

I am willing to retreat to “many”, with a fall back position of “some”.

Branden Ray missed his pro card but he’ll get it soon, i personally thought he looked amazing but add 10lbs to his frame at that BF% w/ those lines and nothing will stop him. This is according to flex wheeler and i agree.

so what did people think of the usa’s? listy allen lol

When I read this, I was thinking “Man, you just stole Flex’s lines!” But then I saw your last line.

I thought Daryl Gee looked phenomenal. I’m surprised he was the 1st runner up as a middleweight, but he deserved it nonetheless.

I just saw the new Branden Ray videos, and god damn did he make improvements.

Yeah, linking that probably wouldn’t be such a good idea. ;)[/quote]

haha, yeah I know, I’m interested to see how well he and Steve Kulco place
