how are you doing? I plan to start the V-Diet in a little less than two weeks. Keep grinding it out.
Yeh im doing ok. I really miss food now, but im really excited about getting into football again. One thing ive realised is that you really really have to want to do this otherwise your most likely to fail.
At times my cravings are crazy and i punish myself by thinking about food i really want. But no matter how bad it gets something in me just wont let me give up. Its tough but think about why your doing it and just go for it. Cant argue with the results, its amazing how your body can change in such a short period. Im on day 13, not even half way there yet.
Agreed, Day 6 and I’m down 8.7 pounds. You want food so bad at certain points (mostly the night for me) If you can stay with it, it’s amazing. I can tell quite a difference already. If you start it and can get through the first few days, then just tell yourself it will be worth it, works for me.
The night times are certainly hard. I for one think this is due to the fact i used to binge so often at night. Im hoping coming through this diet is gona trigger a change in habbit.

What would you say your worst experiences on the diet have been so far? Have u cheated at all?
Digestive problems!!! Im in pain right now, my lower intestines feel like they’re gona explode and ive been burping like a bitch for the past hour, i feel like shit.
To be honest this aint the first time. The first week was cool, no problems there. But recently im really starting to suffer from this. Previously i just sat around for an hour grasping my stomach until it subsided. But now im getting worried, my body clearly is rejecting something and im trying to digest it every time. This is gona fuck me up.
I know everyone is different and many factors can be brought into consideration, but if you guys can give me any general ideas on what to do it will help me alot. Ive never had problems with protein shakes before, prehaps its the HOT-ROX, prehaps im drinking the shakes too quick, prehaps the flax seeds. If you guys can give me any input i will greatly appreciate it because im not gona give up the diet. Any solutions? Maybe yougart but without comprimises to the diet.
Thanks

Well I started the diet the week of finals which probably was not the best idea considering I slept very little etc but I only “cheated” once on the last all nighter before my finals were over, and I had half a piece of whole wheat bread and a little bit of turkey I had left over. Hard to believe I just called that cheating haha.
Other than that the only other bad experience I’ve had is I tried to workout a little more aerobic than what I should have and that made me kinda sick and light headed (I was doing things like side bends, hanging knee raises etc and doing reps of 40-60 which on this diet isn’t a good idea) Other than that I’ve done great. I think everyone and their uncles know I’m doing the diet so I’m not going to embarrass myself by failing or cheating.

I had something similar happen the third day of the diet when it felt like my lower intestines were about ready to explode but it only lasted a few minutes. I would try something like mylanta or pepto or something to try to quell your stomach before I take anything out of the diet, although your body might be developing an allergy to one of the things. (I would guess the flax seeds but I have no real clue)
Try taking some random over the counter medicine whenever it starts to flare up. If that does work, start tinkering with the diet and see what works. Maybe you could get Chris’ attention and see if he has any ideas before you do that though.
Ok i think necking nearly 50grams of protein every two hours is giving me this problem. To be honest i never consumed that much even when i was ‘bulking’. What ive decided to do is instead of having the 2 servings of Metabolic Drive together, i’m going to have them at different times. So basically one serving evey hour or so. I think this will sort me out, will update with pics on monday.

It could be the overwhelming acid load on your body from a high protein diet. There are no fruits or vegetables to neutralize your body. Try some pepto bismol or TUMS which are antacids. Might take care of it.

Thanks for the tip dude, i’ll check it out!

Day 18, 13 pounds down.
I need to be honest; last saturday i ate the wrong food. Not only did i eat the wrong food, i binged big time! Basically it was night of the Ricky Hatton fight, my friends planned to head out to town for a few drinks and then hit a house party where the fight was pre booked.
This was really going to be my biggest test yet, because ive managed to cope we the v-diet so far by basically avoiding any kind of social gathering. I was good in terms of i didnt drink alcohol at all. However when we headed back to my friends house, there awaiting us was a platter full of the most tempting foods. I dont know what happened to me, as soon as i saw the food i completely forgot about the v-diet at let loose. Binging on pizza, garlic bread, chocolates, crisps etc.
On my way back home i felt like shit. I felt sooo bad, all my hard work may have been completely comprised due to this fuck up. I couldn’t go to sleep thinking all this crap was in me, so the first thing i did at 5.30am was go for a four mile run outside in the rainy cold weather. I didnt really know how beneficial that was but i did it more for a physiological stand point. I woke up next morning and perhaps expectedly my weight had increased by 2 pounds. So since then, mon, tues, wed i have been back on route and have managed to lose 3 pounds. However that night has certainly hindered my results.
I think i was doing well up to that point due to the fact i avoided any tempting scenarios. However as soon as i was confronted my temptation, i gave in. Im still gona carry on strong, im motivated by the results so far and the difference from my before pic and now.
Good luck to everyone else.

it’s too bad you cheated, but you did get right back on so that’s good. I think a lot of people cheat once and then say forget it and completely go off the diet. Glad to see you’re back on track.
One day going off the diet and you still look good, and you still are losing. It will be inetersteing to see you on day 28.
I am on day 9 and this is the toughest one so far.
Day 10 here
I managed to lose 8 pounds in the first 7 days of the diet and I’m on day 10 so far going strong but it’s a little unnerving because alot of people began cheating and having problems between days 10 and 15…hopefully you can stick to it because it would definitely keep us V-Dieters inspired.
Ive finished the diet!!! Today is the 28t day and i have lost a total 19 pounds! Now im not sure how much of this has been due to muscle loss but generally speaking my strength has stayed the same with the exception to my bench press. However my leg strength has increased and as expected i can do a lot more dips and pulls ups now.
I followed the diet exactly as prescribed. I had a couple of low moments but did not succumb to failure as i kept pushing forward. I made sure i walked 3-4miles every day and exercised, surprisingly, with great intensity. Here are the results…

Front View

Now the training program i used (same as Chris Shugart’s) had minimal direct arm workout. But due to compound exercises and a massive loss in weight; not only are my abs now visible but ive got really good arm
definition.

My back, again i never really had this kind of definition before.
