Brain Function Boosters

Thanks for the hints guys, I’m gonna do a little bit of reading on nootropics and Vinpo to see what I think.

Not to mention I can go from sweet to bitch in a nanosecond.

any suggestions?

I keep reading the posts about Vinpo.

and does anyone have any opinions as to whether or not the aluminum from cookwear can cause Alzheimers?

Celeste

Hi bitch. Or is it sweetie now? LOL, anyway, whilst I do think aluminium can contribute to alzheimers, I doubt it is the primary cause and I also doubt that a significant amount of AL will be ingested by contact with cookwear or from foods produced in Al vats, etc (like jam and marmelade).

Having said that, I use stainless steel and/or teflon coated Al pans, but that’s for hygeine and performance reasons.

If I might make a suggestion for you to consider regarding supps…?

Whilst vinpo is a great supp, I would think that you might also benefit from a combo of aniracetam and bacopa monnieri, since both these things make you slightly more chilled out whilst improving cognitive ability.

I thank you as do all who have to come in contact with my skitzo ways. =)

Thanks Bushy

I’m not sure if it’s been mentioned in this thread yet , but something I’ve been trying lately is vitamin b-12 sublingual spray. It’s absolutely phenomenal - I’m not sure how it works but it really gives me a relaxed alertness, a kind of warm calm focus. Seems to “balance out” my other noops - which can sometimes make me feel a little wired/jittery.

I had this at the start of last academic year. I thought I wasn’t learning stuff and put it down to not using HupA in my noopstack.

However I actually think I was in, or approaching my ‘unconscious learning’ phase and whilst it didn’t seem like I was mentally that sharp or receptive to input, I was soaking it up like a sponge.

Regarding the apnoea, do you feel tired during the day so much so that you get an irresistable urge to nap?

Neat. Well I have found recall to be pretty good. Found myself quoting unrelated facts that I can’t remember reading, actually
Still the fog’s there, and leaves me unmotivated and ofttimes irritable. Seriously, some days I feel as moody as Jack Dee with a bad case of gout!

I do quite often have the urge to nap. More like sleep. For a long time. In the middle of the day.
Why, what are you thinking?

Awesome we can keep this thread rolling.

I’m in, shoot, week 5 or 6 now?

Vinpo 10mg 3 times a day
150mg DMAE
1 serving Power Drive

Along with Vitamin D3 and Flameout.

Everything is rolling along awesome. While since I quit drinking coffee I’m much more laid back and chill, my mental performance has never been better.

Word recall, memory are at all time highs

Energy is steady. I’m finally starting to get adjusted to life without stim’s. It took awhile.

I was always tired and fuzzy during the day until I started using noops. After about 2 months I started gaining clarity and less need for sleep midday. Now, I get through a day well enough without needing a nap too badly, and that is while attending a fast-paced, high-demand, overloading Army course. I will go with the idea that it’s individual-based on the fogginess. Sometimes I overdo the noop use and it makes me kind of fuzzy, as though my SNS was getting engaged from a sensory overload of some kind.

To answer the Vitamin D question, I take 4000 iu every day (doctor’s suggestion that actually works). I have read in some places that people are taking upwards of 8000iu every day. 4000 works great for me.

It was suggested by my primary doc to take this to reduce anxiety and help with seasonal issues (I have the desire to crawl into a cave and hibernate every winter). Right now the signifacant lack of sunlight is not bothering me at all.

Peace,

An update on the Phenylpiracetam experiment. . .

I last reported that I was taking about 200mg a day, and not all that pleased with the results. I have found that 2 things are happenning at this dose.

  1. sleep quality is suffering. I cannot fall asleep at my ususal time. when I do fall asleep, I cannot dream as much as usual. I normally have at least 1-2 dreams I can remember every night.

they have always been really vivid, and contribute to my state of mind for the next day. This is a fairly important componant of my usual sleep patterns. When I don’t get this type of sleep, I am typically groggy and a bit grouchy the next day.

  1. there is a slight cumulative effect. I have noticed that the chem feeling (slightly unpleasant and “dirty” feeling), lingers a bit when I wake up.

Today I did not take any phenyl- to see if the lingering effects would stick around for a while. Unfortunatley they have, and it is not strong enough to mess up my day, but slightly unplesant none the less.

Peace,

There are other factors that go into SAD, such as not enough light hitting your retina in the winter to activate your pituitary gland, etc.

a little update from my experiences…

noops work much better when on a carbs diet. my body doesnt do well with carbs so i eat high protein mod-high fat with tons of veggies. well on those rare days id eat carbs it was like my brain turned on big time.

but then id get super lethargic and start gaining fat weight. i havnt tried it yet but i think id be well off with some ani.

i like vinpo and huperzine but they work better with carbs. (fuel for the brain)

i hate DMAE! so i gave this compound a fair run. well for me it had no significant impact. you know the feeling when you drink a lot of coffee for a long time and you stop for a day and you dont have any… and you get really foggy and slow. irritable, anxiety, HEADACHES. well DMAE isnt for me.

by the way… that feeling you get that i explained above from caffeine… is there anyway to overcome that? is there a certain neurotransmitter that is affected, is it choline induced??

fish oil- awesome. in the right amounts. feel great at around 15, 1 gram caps. i bumped it up to 30 grams for about a week and got super super thirsty!!! like i could drink 3 gallons of water and be super dry mouthed still! i hated it! and my lips would dry out and stuff. i dropped back down and side effects went away.

choline- even the slightest amount of choline citrate made my heart palp. but i could take a gram of phosphylcholine and be fine.

GABA- didnt like it. made me sleep good but too much made me not able to breathe.

piracetam- i only took about a gram a day but still felt it. even the first dose. i felt like i had a lot of energy but i could zoom in and focus awesome. word recall is awesome. talking was much more easier and i was super out going and happy. due to the effect that is has on GABA release?

Oxiratetam- still sitting in my cupboard :] so i hanvt tried it yet.

rhodiola rosea- awesome stuff! the stuff from the store. i cant take more then 2 caps a day or i get way “over stimulated”. makes me sleep well at night too. but if i add any caffeine with it ill be up all night and day.

feels like im on phets although ive never taken any. just seems like its what it would feel like. like just wired out of my mind. anyways it good to help my stress anxiety. makes everything easier.

if i remember ;] anything else ill let you all know. thanks.

Get All-Clad type cookware. It uses aluminum for even heat distribution but it’s sandwiched between layers of stainless. It doesn’t have the same health risks, its more durable and its easier to work with than plain aluminum.

Great info thanks!

So you had good experiences with the Rhod Rosea. I was thinking about trying it, maybe switching it for Power Drive.

I’m not a fan of Stim’s though, but you say its pretty stim free eh?

This is from an article I read:
Caffeine releases noradrenaline in the brain and also slows the rate at which the cyclic AMP is destroyed. That first cup of coffee you drink in the morning gives you a real lift. It makes you work faster and harder and more accurately and with less effort.

Yet, by the middle of the afternoon, drinking another cup of coffee may just make you space out, jittery, nervous, bad tempered. What?s going on here is pretty simple, too much caffeine depletes the brain of noradrenaline. Fortunately, you can make noradrenaline from either the essential amino acid tyrosine or the nonessential amino acid phenylalanine.

You also need the help of some essential nutrients, specifically vitamin B6, C, and the mineral copper. And a lot of people are deficient in copper; a lot of people aren?t getting the RDA of copper.

Are there actually supps for copper?

That one actually caught me off guard and I read it twice just to be sure of what I saw
