So, this isn’t as hardcore as some of you guys have been doing, but I used to combine Kava Kava tea with Yerba Mate tea. Apparently they are both natural MAO inhibitors, and Yerba Mate has something in it that extends the half life of ATP…or some shit, i don’t quite remember the science behind it and im too busy to look it up.
Anyways, the calming effect from the Kava helps balance out any stim effects you might get from the caffiene, plus the energy from the Yerba Mate is lasting, I never exeperienced any kind of crash. Add in the fact that they are both MAO inhibitors and it made me friggin happy as hell. It actually helped me through a tough time, and helped me study despite my personal problems.
I haven’t read the entire thread (its really long) but I’m wondering if anyone has tried meditating while on the more powerful stuff like adderall or modafil?

Love Yerba Mate…Adderall makes me high as hell, kinda hard to meditate like that.

However, the mechanism by which marijuana works always seems to point back to one simple mechanism - It increases blood flow in the cerebral area.
So it seems that it really doesn’t do anything that a good Ginko or Vinpo extract can’t do. Seems like it is a “super dose” of such that it rapidly does so at a high rate, and tapers off quickly.

Perhaps but your mechanism hypothesis does not incorporate the fact that the psychoactives in marijuana act on distinct cannabinoid receptors, whereas the gingkos/vincos do things that are entirely different (they are not CB1 ligands, vinco is an ion channel modulators). Hence the biological pathway that leads to “increased cerebral blood flow” is going to be different, and the increased blood flow seen post-cannabis use may just be an artifact of other primary actions directed by other areas of the brain. I certainly do not know the entire answer, but the fact that distinct families of receptors are involved negates the simplicity of your argument.
Now as for etaco’s statements about neuroscientists only “cracking the surface” of the working of the brain… come on man give them some credit now. Ramon y Cajal cracked the surface wide open on his own!

Great info, and by all means Im NOT anti pot - Your right about the increased blood flow being a little simplistic in nature.
Thanks for the relpy.
How do you get past the anxiety? Is it something one needs to just get used to?

Ahhh, my powders finally arrived today.
So I have made up some capsules. Taking 2 per dose, equates to 600mg(200mg) DMAE, 600mg aniracetam (I got my previous dosing wrong apparently) and 30mg vinpocetine.
Took a dose and within 30 minutes, felt much more clear headed and analytical.
I have been taking the same ingredients you list above, with the addition of caffiene (200mg), oxiracetam (600mg), ALCAR (500mg), and nicotine (2mg).
I find I am remembering text/images almost by accident, but my overall focus is actually not great. Very good for cramming, not so great for comprehension.
I will experiment by dropping the blatant stims (caffiene, nicotine) when I actually need to understand a new concept.
I have an order of Aniracetam arriving anyday now. I want to use it to enhance my studies for school. Ive read through most of this thread already and I am aware that there are a lot of mixed experiences on aniracetam. But I want YOUR opinions/experiences with aniracetam. What should I expect from it?
I take Spike too–when stacked, what should I expect? And one more thing, I am confused about what people have said about a Choline supplement being required, if someone could enlighten me on that part I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance, guys.

Getting past pot anxiety? Well you just have to accept it and deal with it. So what my heart beats a lot faster when I’ve been smoking and am under pressure to do something (like be smart in front of people), but you get used to it. Of course the best way is just to not smoke, but that’s not always what we do. =P
I think as long as you know you look sober (ie, no red eyes, open eyes, and you are not acting super baked with your speech), you can act sober and hold your cool. It can be tuff… but then again I like challenging myself sometimes… I “put the game face on” and go to work…
And of course I am so much less stressed out after a little MJ… I get pretty frantic by nature, so it always does me more good than bad. Really it’s just what is best for you…
