Any recommendations for the brand? Also, is it better to take it in a liquid form or in a pill?
I just went to the health food store and randomly picked a brand to try, Nature’s Way herbal capsules. Have not tried anything else.
Where is everyone getting their aniracetam in the usa?
I’m pretty strapped for cash but I need a boost for finals, especially with these record pollen levels we’re having in the southeast… feel like I need a nap after breakfast.
Adderall is easy to get but I absolutely hate that stuff.

Going to have to do some research on your own for sources, as posting them here is strictly verboten.
Adderall is great for getting shit done, but crap for learning. Look around and I’ll be you can find some sites to buy ani from.
I’m trying to find a happy medium between neurology and body composition, which is a bitch since I’m pretty carb intolerant. I was wondering whether anyone has any ideas (or guesses) as to whether glucose from acute ingestion of a carb source is any different in it’s effects on the brain when compared to glucose released via glycogenolysis and gluconeogenesis.
Does the former cause a greater spike (and have more neurological benefit acutely)? Does the latter always sufficiently fuel the brains needs? Any leads?
If Im planning to take something for during the exam, would aniracetam or huperzine A be more effective?
I’m leaning towards huperzine A; if the state dependent theory of learning holds up, recall would be better under the same conditions that I learned the material (which is under the influence of huperzine A). Or am I missing something?

I ordered Nature’s Way, Melissa Leaves. Apparently, lemon balm is made from Melissa Leaves. Is that the one you’ve got? I have not received the order yet, but have you tried it? What are the results?

Yes, Melissa officianalis and lemon balm are the same plant. I like it, keeps me calmer and better mood, with clear thinking. I combine it 1:1 ratio with piracetam. Of course your results may be different…

I am surprised nobody has mentioned SAM-e thus far. It seems to be a very popular supplement, but I have not had a chance to try it. Is it any good?
I tried a similar methyl donor called betaine or TMG, which is much less expensive. I did not like it, seemed to give me brain fog.
I’ll be taking a practice test (~3 hours) every week, leading up to the June LSAT. What would I stack and how would I cycle it for maximum practice until the LSAT and maximum performance on that day?
Since it is now impossible to respond to the closed thread “Brain Boosters 2.0” I would like ot place my question here.
bushidobadboy, could you advise on where the best “brain boosters” could be purchased as well as which ones? I recall that you suggested, “Just take 600mg DMAE and 600-800mg oxiracetam and you’ll find that since you only need to read something once (or maybe twice) for it to be memorized, you save a lot of time.” ( Forums - T Nation - The World's Trusted Community for Elite Fitness )
The potential for an increase in concentration and memory sounds intriguing, thus my inquiry.
Im not sure if this has been answered but i cant find it if it has, i am wondering why BBB doesn’t recommend Huprezine anymore and what the side affects the people he recommended it to saw as i have an unopened pack that i am hesitant to use.
i’ve been following the brain booster threads forom the start and not sure if I missed this somewhere but I’m still a little confused.
Are the effects of oxi for studying purposes cumulative, for example do you have to keep taking it several times a day even when not studying for it to work or just once a day every time prior to studying if studying once everyday.
What about sporadic study periods like every other day.
One more question, how long before the study session do you take it to take affect and how long should it last.
Same question for the ani on test day. How long prior to taking the test do you take it?
Thanks

You only need to take oxi before intense study sessions, every other day is ok. I personally only use it about once per week. Same goes for ani. Usually you can feel the effects of these about 30 or 40 mins later. You might try taking the powder sublingually for a bit quicker effect.
Oxi is good for night study because after it wears off (4 hrs or so) you feel like sleeping anyway…Another thing you guys might want to try: taking inositol AFTER a study session seems to help with memory consolidation…try it and see if you agree.

Ok thanks so much for the info. Just out of curiousity what are your dosages and do you take anything else with it like choline or DMAE? Is it possible to dose too much?

One cap of pira, oxi, or ani per day does it for me. I have tried different forms of choline supps, but I am sensitive to them, they make my heart pound forcefully. I depend on egg yolks and sardines for my choline and DMAE. But I don’t eat these every day. Some lemon balm extract works well with pira. I also take 5000 u per day of vit D. Small amt of organic tumeric root per day. I will take a 'racetam together with a little vinpo and a little green tea extract.

Anyone get headaches from vinpocetine?
Since I’ve started taking it (a little over a week) I get a headache each and everytime I pop a 10mg.
I thought I was the only one. The headaches, for me, would be at their worst when I was at the gym. It occured two days in a row, and I figured it must be the vinpo. I stopped taking it for a week and there were no more headaches. I decided to try one more time (just in case) the following week and once again the worst headache ever. I couldn’t even finish my workout the pain was so bad. Needless to say, I had to scrap the product. Oh, and I was taking 10mg a day as well.

Have you guys tried 5mg or even 2.5 mgs? I never take more than 5mgs at a time. Always start conservative and at the low end when trying something new.
