I am on my 2nd week of test 300mg/wk. BP has shot up to an average of 145/85 with a few spells of it getting to 160/100. I have my checkup schedule Monday. Is this something to expect the first couple weeks? I know this can be a side affect, but just wanting to get some reassurance or advice.
Common, but nothing to ignore IMO. You will frequently gain water weight at the beginning of TRT or a cycle and that will certainly trigger a rise in BP (at least for me).
I am guessing your BMI is in excess of 25 and you likely use too much salt. I would get those in line.
What was your BP before introducing test?
BP typically range 120/70
Upper end of normal, no?
I have always run highish, 140/90 at the doctor’s office, written off to anxiety. Never treated. Fast forward twenty years and I have Left Ventricular Atrophy (probable). I also had apnea. My weight has bounced around, but BMI is currently 26 but am lean. I monitored at home and it’s “normal.” So anxiety induced, but am anxious often enough to cause the LVH.
TL:DR - I would take steps to mitigate the BP to prevent lasting damage. Weight loss, increased steps, salt reduction, etc . . .
Just my two.
