Boxing Dive 101

Or not…

First 30 seconds.

Thoughts?

Edit:
Wow, looks like the guy had severe neurological problems. Sorry guys, spoke too soon.

Obvious dive, boxing is looking pretty bad with this and all the ducking too. Williams won’t rematch Sergio, Haye’s being a bitch, and of course Gayweather.

that was terrible. One of the worst moments in all combat sports. Think about all the fight prep wasted. I would have been furious screaming “GIVE ME SOMEONE ELSE TO FIGHT”. Talk about being all dressed up with no place to go.

Looked like he stood up too fast. It happens.

Is there even a boxing commission where they fought?

Mayweather actually had no intentions of fighting again in 2010, that’s all Bob Arum desperately trying to make the fight. Mayweather senior went on record saying the fight will happen next year though, I’m guessing in the summer. Pacquiao will need time to rest after his tuneup fight and then they’ll need time to train and promote.

His trainer is going on trial for something that might put him away. I wouldn’t commit to train for a fight either if the only guy I trusted was getting put up on that shit.

The article I put up said he was getting 200k to fight. My guess is he needed the money, trainer, health, and fans be damned.
Feel sorry for Green.

I didn’t think about that, but his dad can play patty cake just as good as Roger.

Terrible moment in Aussie boxing. Some say neurological problems, I say dive. Look at all the other factors, Briggs is over the hill, out of shape and has done fuck all for the past few years, AND he’s getting 20k just to show up. Win, lose or quit, he gets 20k.

Danny was foul after wards and rightfully so. This had the potential to be a solid fight too.

What’s more sad, as sardines pointed out above, is this couldn’t come at a more worse time for boxing in general.

I don’t understand taking a dive without any real contact. If that was purposefully taking a dive, he’s an idiot. The way that went down it was bound to stir up a ton of controversy, it doesn’t make sense that someone would take a dive like that.

^ I agree. The jab that fell him, though amplified by his lunging forward, would have left any other boxer unfazed. This leads me to believe that the explanations given after the fight are correct- Briggs was merely in horrible condition.
Either way, it was a pathetic showing, and whether or not it was his (or the promoters) intention, he screwed anyone who paid for that fight.

Omg Danny Green hits really hard!! I wonder what his weightlifting setup is like to make him hit that hard.

The man caused briggs to have a brain stem injury…man no1 can stop danny green, especially after he beat Roy Jones Jr. in the first round. Danny Green is pound for pound the best fighter and probably the hardest hitting cruiserweight (if not boxer) in this moment of time.

Hahaha, oh wow

Nope, Alexander Emelianenko, Fedor’s little brother, just KO’ed a dude with the shockwave of one of his hooks. He takes that title.

Damn I thought Danny would be taking it…I mean he makes people’s brains explode!!! Maybe next time I watch this Alexander fight I will feel it through the TV!
