What can you do if your gym does not have a proper box height to squat on. In the article it says that a bench may be to narrow or not the proper height, any suggestions or can I still try to find a bench they may work?
build your own box.
I was just going to ask about that myself.
Seeing as how I usually drag 1-3 kids into the club with me when I workout, there really isnt a good way to also carry in a homemade box without making extra trips back to car.
I think i’ll try some objects around the place, maybe I can scrounge up something, but I know I havent seen a real wood box lying around.
I think benches are going to be right on the edge of too high myself, I know they would put me at parallel or maybe slightly above, no way are they low enough to go below parallel.
I use the “spacers” from the aerobics steps with a 35lb plate on top to cover the big hole 'cause the spacers are hollow.
Once I just stacked a bunch of plates on top of one another.
Nothing compares to a real box, I know, but sometimes ya gotta improvise
use the bench but if it is to low pile 45 plates on till its the right height or if you have access to use the steps up used for aerobics
good sug. I would have never thought of thoose ty.
adjustable “box” @ elitefts.com online store.
We useto use a bench, but they (our gym), replaced the “old” low benches with new ones that are waaaaay too high to be effective.
Some dude built a box and posted a pic of it in the Photos Forum, I believe. We’re building our own, too.
