Book of Muscle or New HIT

Those good books? Can I find all the info in New High Intensity Training here?

I have the Book of Muscle by Ian King. It’s a good book. Ian has a good way of structuring the workouts to focus on bringing up typical imbalances and weak spots. Many of the workouts can be done in 30 minutes or less. He structures the workouts so they begin with some isolation exercises and low sets (1-2 per exercise) with higher reps (12-15) and progresses toward heavier exercises on basic exercises with more sets (3-5) and less reps (4-6 or lower).

I haven’t received my copy of The New Hit Bodybuilding book, so I can’t give you any info on it. I’m sure it contains some really good stuff. However, I really don’t understand what you’re asking. Yes, you can buy that book through T-Nation. And you can purchase the Book of Muscle through amazon.com.

Buy them both! If you can’t buy both, buy the one that appeals to you most. Or maybe the one that appears to be the opposite of how you’ve been training in the past.

I’m assuming you mean “The New Bodybuilding for Old School Results.” I have it. It’s good. Lots of good stuff in there.

Ian King’s “Book of Muscle” is also good. I have always liked Ian’s balanced approach to exercise.

Buy 'em both.

Dr. D has written two recent bodybuilding books:

“The New High-Intensity Training,” and
“The New Bodybuilding for Old-School Results”

In the first one, he describes and illustrates all his recommended exercises and includes a year-long training plan.

The second one contains 12 different interviews of old-school coaches and bodybuilders, a lot of history, and a bunch of new routines.

They both are filled with Dr. D’s great stories and outstanding pictures.

I can’t speak for “The Book of Muscle”, but “The New H.I.T.” can be found in good bookstores or Amazon. There doesn’t seem to be an exclusive online store for that book.

I have both “The New H.I.T.” and “The New Bodybuilding for Old-School Results” (found in the “Store” section of this site only, as far as I know). Let’s say that both are sister books. “New H.I.T.” is a good choice if you want to learn how to do H.I.T. “New Bodybuilding” is less of a training book and more of a history/methodology book, although there are also routines for more advanced H.I.T. lifter.

Dr. Darden has a website that is also run by the Biotest folks at http://www.drdarden.com. While I train in HIT fashion, I much prefer T-Nation to DrDarden, even though I get grief from non-HIT lifters. It just feels more active here.
