Energy has been absolutely zeroed out after these past couple days. Not enough food to keep up with the extra work, heat and humidity has been high. Going shopping for my last week of meals before vaca tonight.
Elbows, knees and shoulders are irritated, and my quads are sore as hell from all the weighted climbing I’ve been doing. Hoping it doesn’t mess with squats too much in a few days.
Yup I am still using the plazma and microPA before every lifting session.
I must say… I did better yesterday than I initially thought I would. I can tell that I’m under recovering in a bad way just due to lack of food and a highly increased workload. Sore joints, the feeling of inflammation in my elbows, knees, shoulders, tired all day, poor sleep.
That I hit my goal numbers for the main work may actually be a testament to the plazma tbh. I was not expecting to. But, and I think it was you that said something similar while carbing preworkout, I noticed a STEEP drop off of energy after the main work. I just had nothing left in me.
It seems like plazma definitely assists for a short period of time, but isn’t a cure-all if the remaining 23 hrs of the day aren’t at least semi decent.
Switched over to the log
Couple sets of 134x5
Two attempts of 154lb
3 sets of bw+25lb pull ups x 5
3 sets of bw+25 dis x 5
Had a busy weekend so far. Diet has been lacking, as has hydration. Vision dropped out on almost every single set of press today after the clean… thinking I could hit that 154lb log if I wasn’t afraid of dropping it on myself due to blackout or if I could actually see.
I think I’m already in vacation mode, but I need to lock back in for the last day of squats coming up.
I have been having a very crazy week. Feeling very achy and tired. Too much work, not enough downtime. I’ve been eating dinner around 9pm every night just due to trying to get stuff done around the house after work.
Posting this here to be held accountable-
I am shooting for 315x20 squats tonight. I will make time to lift, no matter what time it is.
Failed both lifts today. I was so confident with the squats until rep 12 ish. By rep 15 my legs were shaking so badly I thought I was going to drop, however, I am extremely pissed I racked the bar. I know deep down I just gave up.
Got 445 off the ground twice but I felt the weight go straight to my lower back once the bar got up my shins. I know I can hit this weight.
Not a good lifting day. I’m going to hit 315x20 and 445x1 before starting the next program.
Edit: weighed 202 before lifting today
Deadlift fail video. Seems to me that my form has changed substantially after switching to straps. Mixed grip videos from before deepwater showed my torso much more upright, lowerish (relatively speaking) hip starting position and way less rise in my hips at the initial pull off the floor. Also, I seem more in line with the bar as opposed to leaning over it.
I feel like my upper body is just too far forward causing the weight to go straight to my lower back once the weight leaves the floor. It’s way less of a push off with legs/lean back with hamstrings/ shove my feet through the floor than it is just yanking the fucker.
With what you have been squatting, I’m sure you know it and then some. Thanks man
Yeah man definitely, I normally am able to shut it off if I have a rep goal in mind… I think I need to actually fail some squats into my rack so I know everything will be ok.
On the way into work I was thinking to myself that I need to try 315 for 20. For me that’s a bigger number than hitting a single at 405. Then I saw you posted that same thing and thought hell yeah the Boilerman’s head is in that same place. If you just ran with 315 for 20 right out of the gate ala Super Squats you’d have nailed it. Your squat numbers are moving on up big time.
Yeah man, I didn’t really think about it until the one day I hit it for 10… Just thought it’d be possible to hit for 20 after the relative ease of the lower rep set. I say go for it dude. It is certainly exhilarating
