Finally made it back to lift today. I’m “ok” with how it went. The weight moved well but was not easy. Sounds about right for 3’s week (month? bi-monthly?..). Weight is continuing to drop, and at this point I don’t know where it’s coming from. I guess I could still be dropping some fat?
Either way, I think the massive influx of work has started to become more of a steady stream which should help with weekday OT. I still have some weekend work to take care of, but am deciding to keep sundays wide open for myself/family. I don’t think I’ve had a true day off since early September, so I’m looking forward to that.
So awesome to see you still getting after it, between the long work hours and the fatherly commitments. You’re setting an outstanding example for your child, and they’re so blessed to have you as a dad.

This is the first day since ~august where I felt even somewhat competent when it comes to lifting. Everything moved fast, felt strong and I sunk those squats as low as I could.
I’m starting to feel at least partially back to my former self (lifting-wise). Food has been decent, and I’m getting a bit more calorically dense stuff in the form of peanut butter and beef. I’ve lifted more in the past 7 days than the previous 2 months or so. It’s starting to become real that I should be able to continue progressing a bit at a lower bodyweight.
I feel good and strong today. It felt as though I could’ve taken that 250 squat set to widowmaker town, for sure.
Another week between sessions, and another week over 60 hrs working. This is a couple months straight now at this point I believe.
Got a call from my bro (met when we were 6 years old) on Wednesday that his boiler shit the bed. Hooked him up yesterday. Ended up being close to 12 hrs when all was said and done, but got the heat on for his family.
Doing such an excellent job of keeping things moving and being a new father. Just wanted to say you are killing it mate. Maybe its time to change that title to Boilerman TAKES it all.
Food has been steadily improving the past week or so and I felt it today. All of this felt spot on. It was a difficult, pumpalicious, veintastic session.
Started supplementing D3\K2\MCT this past week as well, and although it is likely placebo, I seem to feel great. I’m so much more energetic and in a great mood.
@simo74 thank you bro! I appreciate the kind words. You’re right, my log title hasn’t changed in a couple years, haha. It might be time for an edit on that!
@tlgains I’m sorry I haven’t replied in your log- the post is a work in progress. I want to make sure to cover all your questions. I’m posting this here so I don’t lose any of the writing I’ve done, haha.

Almost done with the first leader of SVRII. I’m definitely liking it so far, and it’s certainly getting me back in the groove of lifting. I weighed sub 196lb this morning, so the next order of business is getting my eating at least partially back to where it was a few months ago. I’d like to continue to slowly gain weight because I’m feeling pretty tiny right now. All of my shirts are very big on me, and my pants are legitimately loose both around the waist and thighs. Being as lean as I am is ok, but I really want these next few months to catapult me forward strength-wise.
Happy thanksgiving, all.I’ll be shoving pounds of turkey and stuffing down my gullet and guzzling a twelve pack of Corona the remainder of the day. Nice.
Well, I haven’t had time to lift yet this week but am planning on it tonight. I’ve been on call and work has been a bit crazy. Couple that with appointments and whatnot and that leads to only having time to make dinner at night.
A couple things I wanted to make notes of-
Diet has been good these past couple weeks. 95% of what I’ve been eating has been single ingredient food (beef, chicken, potatoes, leafy vegetables etc) and I’m feeling it. I’m looking leaner and, since I’ve weighed in last, have gained a couple lbs. Sitting right around 198lbs. Energy levels have been great even with work being nuts.
I think taking extra days between lifting has helped me immensely. I can see a 2-3 day/week program as a method I can adopt for the time being. It’s allowing me to eat less food while also slowly gain weight, recover fully between sessions and have the energy for living my life.
My triceps have grown for some reason. Might be because I’m concentrating more on them with assistance movements for the first time which leads me to believe the way I’m approaching the assistance is the way to go. Basic double progression, trying to beat the log book. After a leader, switch the movement but keep the target muscle. If I feel I’m crushing a movement, up the weight. I should’ve been doing this from day one instead of bouncing all over the place.
Super excited about the anchor coming up in a few weeks. It’s still too early to start planning on my next cycle, but I’m likely sticking with 531. Going to read through forever again and earmark some pages.
