No conditioning or lifting today, I had a pretty packed evening after work. I did end up eating a decent amount for first dinner though. 4 piedmontese bratwurst and 7 eggs which brings the total to 1.5lbs beef and 11 eggs. I am currently still hungry, so I will edit with additional food.
Edit: also had dairy free queso made of cashews with pickled jalapenos, which was actually outstanding, and casava flour tortilla chips, which were also awesome. I’m not normally one to eat “replacement” food, but I was pleasantly surprised at how good that stuff tasted.

Dinner is an 8oz piedmontese strip medallion with chimichurri sauce, 7 scrambled eggs and a handful of home made fries. Not pictured is another 5ozs of a flat iron that my wife had me cook that she only ate a little bit of.
Yeah of course! My wife made them so zero credit goes to me, haha.
She cuts russet potatoes into equal-ish sized slices and she microwaves them for about 5 minutes just to precook them. Get a baking sheet and put parchment paper on it, spread a thin layer of olive oil on the paper and add the precooked fries, drizzle some more olive oil on top and season to your liking. She just did salt, pepper and a bit of garlic powder. Then put them in the oven at ~400 until they’re pretty close to being done and then broil them on high for 1-2 minutes until you get some burnt parts on them.
She will also add parmesan cheese to them after they come out of the oven sometimes and those are awesome
Pretty simple and microwaving them cuts like 15 minutes off the cook time so they’re pretty quick, too.
Thanks dude! I think I’m finally realizing just how much I have to eat in order to perform the way I want. This isn’t terribly far off from how I was eating previous to BtM, honestly. Just a few more eggs and a bit more misc stuff to get calories higher. Eating has just become this robotic thing lately though, haha. If I’m hungry, I eat. If I’m not hungry, I eat.
Also, I have been wanting to run this program for a couple years now and I do not want to fizzle out on it. I do not want to miss a single rep in these 6 weeks so the food has to be there.
Wanted to do a check in/update since I haven’t really done one in a while.
About to reach the halfway point for BtM tomorrow afternoon. I’ll probably weigh in on Friday afternoon, after work, just for another reference point and potentially do a few pics. So far, I feel pretty outstanding. It’s kind of surprising that I feel as good as I do. I went straight from the 10k challenge to BBBB to BtM without any deload weeks or breaks.
So far the doms haven’t been too bad. The majority of the soreness that I am feeling is in my traps, forearms, lats and bi/tris and a bit of a dull ache in my quads.
I am feeling confident every time I go back to lift that I will hit every rep without issue, which is an awesome headspace to be in. The last DL workout yesterday had some doubt creeping into my brain due to multiple sets of a decently heavy weight (for me) but after the first set I knew I had it with extra energy to spare.
I bring this up often during certain programs, but it’s an important note to make: I can legitimately feel myself growing. My shirts are tighter, my pants are tighter in the ass/upper leg area, and it feels like my back muscles have exploded. My traps feel stupid right now and it feels like my neck has grown?
My abs have become a bit more blurry than they were before I started this program, but as of right now I could not care less about that. The feeling of an overall growth throughout my entire body is awesome. I’m feeling bigger than I ever have and I love it.
Not sure what the plan is after BtM is done, but a diet break is definitely in order. If I can reset my maintenance cals back down a bit it would be awesome, and carving off some fat would also be welcomed. I’d like to get back down to ~195-200lbs by the end of summer, then hopefully eat back up to 220ish at some point. The less time I spend in a deficit, the better, but I don’t want to start getting sloppy.
I see @tlgains running a conjugate program and it seems interesting, for sure. If I remember correctly you had posted a huge list of articles in his log so I’ll scroll back and check them out!
100 kb swings

20 reps with a 95 lb barbell of clean, press to back squat to BtN press to floor
Directly into
20 kb goblet squats

100 kb swings
Didn’t time this and I don’t think I’m going to time much of my conditioning for the time being. I’ll time grace and straight kb swings, but otherwise I don’t think it matters.
2lbs of beef (ate more than just beef today, including shrimp, turkey and bacon) and only 7 eggs. Forgot to stop on the way home to get more.
Well, I just found out there is a name for this movement, haha. I do everything but the squat after the clean and my hands are spaced a lot further than what is typical for a clean for me… So it’s more like a muscle snatch to back squat to BtN press I guess?
