Next week im going to a workcamp with my church in which we will fix houses (paint, roof, side etc) for some people who cannot afford a contractor or the like. The only downside to this is i will be in a place where going to the weightroom is not an option. Im leaving the day after tomorrow, and i was wondering what kind of bodyweight only excersizes (excluding dips/pullups being as there will be no bar) i could use to keep me strong the week im away.
As a backround, im 17, training for football which starts in 7 weeks using westside
Never rule out chins, I’m sure you can find something to hang off of; i.e. a rafter, I-beam, monkey bars(at a playground), hell even a tree branch. Just chin. Not only is it a bodyweight exercise, it is one of the very best back exercises.
An added bonus, if you chin for some time off irregular objects, you will be stronger in chins on a normal straight bar.
The only other thing I have to say is read King’s article.
maloneted is exactly right! You can work virtually every muscle in your upper boddy with Pull-ups and Chin-ups. Whatever else you do, include Chinning!
