Bodyweight Goals?

im 6’1 165… i’d actually like to get back to 155 lb. completely ripped… would take alot of stress off my joints with all of the plyos/jumps i do, and it would definitely have me jumping higher just because of the fat loss.

Dude, you gonna be swole as hell.

not to tear down anyones personal goals, but if you think your joints are stressed because you are 165, i think that you are mistaken. plenty of big men, especially powerlifters, olympic lifters, throwers, do all sorts of jumps and explosive exercised and they often weigh twice as much as you. you would probably be better off to put some muscle around those joints. and improving a vertical by losing 10 lbs is a ridiculous thought. you should improve a vertical by improving explosive performance, or you really havent improved anything at all. and if you are 6’1 and 165 and are not already shredded, you prob would be better off to put on some muscle. if not you will, if you dont already, look like a bean pole

ya plenty of powerlifters do depth jumps from 30"+ boxes for moderate to high volume, or do 40 dunk attempts 3 days per week… or run tons of sprints throughout the week… and stuff like that.

plenty of oly lifters do that also.

so do plenty of strongman.

i knew some people would reply to my comment and act all manly, but i do not care about yours, or anybody’s opinion on this issue… i was simply replying to the OP.

no offense, but your avitar doesn’t necessarily make me want to put on any weight.

peace[/quote]

ok, now that we are goin to get into a pissing match. say what you want about my avatar, but i feel like if i were to post pics of me and you were to post pics of you. most people on this site would be much more impressed with my 245 lb body than your cute lil ripped surfer body. and then we could post lifts and ill start to make you look silly all around. so shut up. and i know that i hit a string with you, but i see your type in the gym all the time. that do some cardio, bench and arms. and then bitch about they cant put on weight, followed by complaining about losing losing their abs and need to cut some of the fat off of their stomach. all while picking up their shirt to look at their tummy 25 times in a 45 minute lift period. a big guy who cuts weight and gets ripped is admirable, but a little guy striving to be smaller is not

im 5’10 203 around 12-13% looking to be ~220 and 13% bf in 15 weeks

long time goal is to be 220 at 7-10% bf

FightorFlight, I see your point, but you’re totally missing where he’s coming from.

i think adarqui is all about the vertical jump…not bein a big monster guy n stuff like that.
it’s a respectable goal…i guess just a little more specific and ppl woulda got why you wanted to do that adarqui.

Currently: 5’11, 208, 10 % BF

Goal: 6’4’, 245, 10 % BF

Real Goal: 215-220, 10 % BF. Whenever that goal comes, I’ll be happy, I’m more worried about getting stronger overall, but a few extra pounds of lean muscle would be nice.

are you on crack? you’ve never seen my type… youtube.com/adarqui

and good luck with your goals, i wish you the best.

ps: i barely read your post, just saw a few words… do not care because you know nothing about me and i know nothing about you… and i’ve posted my “shoe bodyfat pics” and boxing pics on t-mag before… here’s one from when i was boxing @ 147 lb, go fap to it: http://i390.photobucket.com/albums/oo345/adarqui/Photo66.jpg … if you would like some special poses, make sure you have a paypal setup before you PM me.

just go look at some professional fighters, boxing, mma, sprinters etc, and just re-think your position on skinny ectos who put in work.

peace

currently 5’9" 205 bf i dont really know. im not fat, but i dont have that awesome ripped six pack. i think im rocking a 4.5 pack. anyway, long term bw goals include totaling “elite” raw at 220lbs. maybe that means usually weighing 230lbs…whatever. im 24 now (june 4), id like to achieve the elite by 26.

look i apologize for upsetting you, and typing you as one of the pretty boys. If you are a fighter, than respect to you, because thats a field that bodyweight is a big factor and it takes real work. but, i think you could improve your vertical by doing other things than just cutting weight. and before you go thinking that i dont understand your kind of work, i have a background in taekwondo and jujitsu. i fought 8 pancrase fights and 15 cage fights in the heavyweight division before deciding that i was going to dedicate to getting big and hoping to powerlift.

i really am sorry that i pissed you off and i understand why being lighter is your goal. goodluck with your goals.

I’m a traceur (Parkour athlete… - YouTube ) and can definitely vouch that strength is going to play more into jumping abilities than losing weight will.

As far as the thread goes… I’m currently 5’6" at 155lbs. I haven’t decided whether to go up to 160 or down to 148 for powerlifting.

definately an impressive vid. you probably have some remarkable hand strength too, hanging and pulling up on corners like that. How do you get started in something like that?

200lbs 8% bf ASAP

P.S. I think adarqui knows a thing or two about how to improve his vert. Plus, he’s white and dunks, which is awesome.

I can honestly say on behalf of the white race we are very proud of him.

Amen, still need to get that new Red and Meth, too.

I’m white and can dunk, perhaps I have an advantage being a little bit taller than Adarqui. But there’s plenty of white people who can do that, just a myth.

Ok, currently 6’4" at ~230. Not sure about BF, I use a cheap tanita scale that tells me I’m at 20%, but I think I’m a little bit lower than that… Would like to get up to 250 with at most an equal BF to what I have now by, maybe, the end of the year?

Definitely need to increase the amount of squats and dls that I do in my workouts.

my current lifetime goal is 250lbs at ~10% bf. I am about 250 at 18% 6’2 right now.
