I want to enter a bodybuilding contest next year and since I have nothing but time, and want to be in real good shape for it. But thers only one problem I think bodybuilding is a little “gay”. I was thinking about using the mutation series or pendulum bodybuilding, with oly lifts mixed in.
Has anyone tried a progrm like this?

Dude, you’re going to spend the next year (right?) getting in the best shape of your life, eating like it’s your job, managing your lifestyle, etc, just so you can stand onstage next to a bunch of oiled-up mostly-naked guys posing and flexing, and you’re worried about bodybuilding being a “little gay”? LOL!
Seriously though, I’m mixing in Oly lifting with my routine, and it’s fun and rewarding. Good luck to you in your contest next year.
If you think it’s gay, why enter the contest? Even if you think bodybuilding workouts are gay, STILL, why enter the contest?
There’s no reason to use a “typical” bodybuilding workout for an entire year, and even then, you shouldn’t, for that matter.
I love to do all the olympic lifts and powerlifts, whether I’m preparing for a contest or not, and only use occasional “typical” bodybuilding training for weak bodypart GPP.
In the end, it’s what you believe in what works for you.
