I rarely drink because of my physique goals. Actually, the only time I drink is when I’m on vacation or something similar and it’s just a clusterfuck of bad decisions physique- and otherwise.

I have a stressful job - life, actually - and I’ll often say, “I’m definitely having a drink when I get home tonight.” But when it comes down to it, if I’m going to cheat on my diet, I’d rather have pasta than alcohol. Just not worth the extra carbs & calories.

I don’t know if that’s the sort of answer you were looking for, but that’s how I view alcohol in relation to my goals.[/quote]Good for you… cheating on diet it 100 times better than drinking… Did you quit drin king? (I drink moderately during the weekends… I also eat a lot when i drink… I feel a bit tired when i workout next day, but i work hard and have a clean diet. I think reducing the fried foods with alcohol is a good idea…)

I didn’t officially “quit drinking” anymore than I “quit ice-cream.” They just don’t fall in line with my goals, so I rarely consume them except as a planned cheat (usually unplanned cheats involve cookies and pastries).

Will Brink has been around for quite a while and writes some pretty solid stuff. Nothing ground breaking or revolutionary, but he is one of those people I like to hear from if I am looking for an intelligent, no BS assessment regarding nutrition, supplements or the supplement industry.

He also is/used to be in pretty good shape.

Get smashed and hit up the gym. Your gains will be unreal.

what about Advocaat?

Yes, drinking everyday is a bad thing. Yes, drinking large amounts at one time is going to screw up your hormones, diet, and training for a day or two. That being said, if you want to drink alcohol, DRINK THE DAMN ALCOHOL.

I 100% believe it to be true that stressing over minutae like this will do more damage in the form of adversely affecting hormones than would be done if you just drank the damn alcohol. I’ve been training clients for about 5 years now and I have always found it to be true that people with a laid-back attitude about things such as this make the most progress. As long as someone learns basic guidelines, follows them the majority of the time, and (this is the important part) doesn’t stress about all the insignificant bullshit, they will see progress. It’s the people that stress about dumb shit that fail to see progress. I really truly believe that worrying about insignificant details adversely affects hormones to the point that it would be better to just do the wrong thing when it comes to those insignificant details.

Don’t have any desire to drink? That’s fine, no one is saying you should. Just don’t stress about it.
