Bodybuilders Don't Get Laid

Oh, and good thing I listened to the anti-permabulking crowd, too.

Most modern day women do not give a rat’s ass about a man’s physique so long as he is not obese, and that’s a high standard to live up to, nor does it require anything but not overeating. And I mean they REALLY DON’T CARE, which is obvious by the majority of men, who do not exercise regularly or care what they eat. Look around your workplace, to your family members, or around any crowded place. Do you see many fit people? No. Are most married? It’s likely they are. Skinny fat, fat, skinny, frail, and yes, in some cases, obese. Someone is having sex with them, dating them, or married to them. The spouses… DO NOT CARE.

You’re talking about the vaaast majority of women, and you’re right.

But 10s and 9s, on the other hand, absolutely care about man’s physique mostly because they get to be picky.

And yet even then, ‘leanness’ is almost invariably more revered than ‘gross LBM’ even though both are fair indicators of masculinity.

Though this is also true for the vaaaast majority, it isn’t true across-the-board.

Provided a man carries it right and maintains a healthy polarity in the relationship, she will happily bend-over-backwards and forgive basically everything.

(Needless to say, she has to properly respect/value the man and that’s typically where the train runs off the tracks…)

Perhaps, but I honestly think they don’t care either, as I said, so long as the guy is not fat or sloppy. I believe what works on a ten (whoever the heck is a ten, I don’t know), is endless amounts of money. Not a six figure job, but buckets of money.

I assume these days, with modern work being sedentary and the economy in a death spiral, people are in survival or diversion mode. Survival these days requires money, not physical prowess, unless one is in a heavy industry. And from the increase in stress, people turn to diversions and vices, overeating and drinking being two of them. So I suspect this is why women don’t give a rat’s ass about muscularity, and many women do not care about their own bodies these days either!
This is funny because no more than 10 minutes ago I obliged a request for a shirtless pic from some chick (who was infatuated with my squatter’s ass)… the result was being called “gorgeous” and her asking if I was down to be fuck buddies.

Yeah, she’s a little skanky, but she also has threesomes with her twin sister, so whatevsies.

Good thing I read her texts before I read this thread.
I didn’t say women are not turned on by an in-shape guy. I have gotten some attention, appreciation from my fiance, and overt flirtation in my life for my physique. And yes, in some cases, the request for photos of the body, or… uh… parts of the body. But I am still of the belief that it’s just some icing on the cake for a woman if the guy she happens to stumble upon or date or marry is buff. I can’t see the average woman caring so much because as I said I see almost none of them with buff men, let alone that they are with totally out-of-shape men. I think if they REALLY cared, we’d see far more buff guys.

Why get buff just to get women? There are much easier ways.

I know for a fact that women can tell if you are cycling something. They really check you out. Its like they can smell it. Suddenly friends that are women are flirting with you. A lot of guys here can back that up.

Stupid things woman say is “I don’t like muscley guys”. But when you watch them they flirt with guys they have the best bodies. I think this is one of those women codes for watch what I do not what I say. Don’t want to look like a big slut cause she wants to fuck the big hot guy.

Sounds like a real winner.

The more picky they are, the more undecipherable their criteria.

I knew a girl who simultaneously dated with :
-a quite famous and controversial french philosopher, who could have been her grand-father
-and a pennyless, jobless, homeless, and shapeless 21 year old me.

She was probably turned on by weird decadent brains.
Or something.
No one will ever know for sure.

Cause she is a woman.

you have just written a better article than most of the published articles.

women want brad pit and Steve jobs

men want Pamela Anderson and mother Teresa

these are very conflictive characteristics and are not usually possible, that’s why we want it.

Most buff guys date pretty attractive women. That’s a function of both of their preferences – whether you say it’s because he only dates attractive women, or because she’s attracted to buff guys, the end result is the same.

Therefore, the average women don’t date buff guys, because they’re already taken. It’s not a reflection of their preferences, but rather supply and demand.

Also bear in mind that working out and clean diet are lifestyle preferences. Many people find those things a hassle. I’m no Jamie Eason, but even at my level of fitness people close to me can get irritated. By and large I avoid eating like a fat person and I want to be active during leisure time - but I don’t want someone who operates at a much higher level than I do, either. I’d miss the pizza and fries.

So while it may mainly be a prioritization of looks, it’s also finding someone whose habits match yours.

I’m sure she’ll be lovely when you find her! lol

I’m holding out hope that you and Beth will get together. Then you’ll be hanging from cliffs in your free time and wishing you hadn’t eaten so much fat people’s food.

Study and conclusion is flawed, just awful. There are way too many variables not considered like the huge cultural differences between countries like Latvia and the United States. Way too many different preferences, and that isn’t even taking into account that women consistently say one thing (ew I don’t like muscly guys) and then do another (fuck muscly guys).

The short of it:

Attempting to take any kind of study evaluating women’s “preferences” will never actually lead to any meaningful conclusions.
