Body Measurements

I was wondering what some of the bodyfat and body measurements where of some of t-mags readers. I have been lifting weights for close to 10 years now, and I have to say that at age 33 I am in the best shape of my life. And I will say that eating right has made all the difference. I am small boned 5’9" 165lbs bodyfat 8%, had it measured in bodpod. I have 30 1/2 inch waste,16 inch arms, 42 inch chest. My legs have been lagging behind , so I have started training them twice a week. I know I am not that big, but I proud to say that I never taken a streroid in my life or gone longer than a week without lifting.

5’11 188 Lbs. 13% Bodyfat. Arms 14.5", waist 33", Chest 44", Calves 15". Been training for 2 years, only last year seriously. I’m 20 years old. Benchpress 230, Squat 275 x 2, Deadlift 405.

What’s “bodpod”?

I have been lifting for 11 years as well. I am 30 years old, and have also never touched a steroid. I have supplemented over the years, and have been using Biotest products fairly religiously ever since finding out about them. My measurements / bodyfat are as follows. 5’9", 242 (just finishing a growth surge project with Mag-10). Bodyfat is a little high right now, at 18.1%. Arms 18 1/2 inches, thighs 25", waist 37", Chest 51", and Neck 19". Bench Press 395, Squat 585, Deadlift 500. I have had a background in strength and conditioning, and played Rugby up to a semi-national level for 10 years. I am going to start to trim down after I finish this phase of training (2 weeks), and plan on dropping my weight to approximately 225-230, and get my body fat down to under 12%… then we’ll see where I need to go from there! I would agree with you that diet makes all of the difference. But, also, you do need to pay attention to your training phases, and there is something to be said for breaks of longer than a week on occasion, when needed. I have been known to take a month off when necessary! Hope this was of interest…

The Bodpod is an egg shaped device that is split into two chambers. You sit in one chamber and the computer notes changes in air pressure from the amount of air you displace in the front chamber. From that measurement, it calculates your body volume and it also measures thoracic gas volume (which needs to be subtracted for an accurate body volume. Body weight divided by body volume gives you body density. From body density you calculate body fat. There are many equations that convert body density to body fat percentage, but most notably the one from Siri in 1956 and Brozek in 1961. The Bodpod uses the same assumptions as hydrostatic weighing. The biggest difference between the two is that the bodpod looks at air displacement to calculate volume whereas hydrostatic weighing looks at water displacement.

To answer the original question, read through the getting ripped support group threads (both the original (use search engine) and the current one). They are full of measurements of many of us. Not everything, but a lot of heights, weights and %body fats.

I am 30, 6-5, 275, about 10-12% bodyfat. I have 18” neck, 18.5” arms, 53” chest, 35” waist, 25.5” quad, and 18.5” calves. I have been working out since I was 18, but I have only been working out hard for the last 6 years, and smart since I found T-Mag. I am lifetime steroid free. I do dabble in the supplement arena though. A lot of people do think I juice. As far as lifting weights 315 for 10 reps on bench and 275 for 4 (ass to floor) on squats. I have never really maxed on deadlifts. I have pretty good hamstring and lower back development and am desperately working to bring my quads up in line with it. I am hoping to compete in my first contest in September and will begin my cutting phase June 1. It should be an interesting experience. I am working hard to get my quads and lats up before I start cutting.
