Body by Gregron

Gregon you are a physical specimen in the truest sense of the word.

My only concern is on the leg press, it looks like your ass is coming way off the pad. I am pretty sure that is asking for an injury. Leg press isn’t an exercise in which you need a huge range of motion. Just something to think about.

best of luck

pbclax- thanks buddy. The meadows shoulder stuff is gnarly… I love it

TommyGunz- What is up my man? Thanks for stopping by and for the kind words. yeah I really noticed that part about my butt lifting off the seat. I couldnt keep it down lol… I was hoping I would get some info about that because, like i said, I havent done leg press since highschool. I just prefer to do free weight leg stuff. any idea why that would be happening? Tight somethings? lol Thanks bud

Ok so just wanted to stop in and say Happy 4th of July weekend to all my fellow T-Nationers. Quick little conditioning workout at the house this morning with my fiance to get ready for the beach. (she did it without the weight vest for the step ups)

100 jumps with the speed rope
20 curls with the resistance band
10 lat raises with the resistance band
50 jumps with the 1LB rope
10 step ups each leg w/ weight vest
10 overhead KB swings per arm
300 meter run

4 rounds of that… shirtless to help as a little tan booster lololol. smoked! my time was 21:xx and hers was 23:xx

You only won by 2 minutes?

Son, I am disappoint.

scj- how tall are you? Have you ever dunked before? (these are important questions if I’m going accept your challenge ha!)
6’3", in high school I could dunk a volleyball but I was 40lbs lighter and was playing basketball/volleyball year round.

I can get about as much over the rim as you. However, I’m bulking so I don’t really expect to achieve this till I eventually lean out. Challenging you will get me to play more consistently though, which is about the only “conditioning” I do.

Dude, I’ve been busy, so forgive me for not commenting sooner, but fuck that video was awesome dude. FS’s looked easy. Oh, and did dude whisper “LWI” into your ear @ 2:38?

Your facial hair makes me feel good about mine. LOL

And your headband is retarded.

hope you had a nice weekend!

DF- hahaha it wasnt a race. we were using the same equipment in a round robin style workout lol

sjc- I shall accept your challenge my friend. We will see who dunks first. So right now you can grab rim? This will be a bit rough challenge… what is your reach?

Ink- No worries man, glad to have you back bud. glad you liked the vid. Was it the guy with the dreads? lol that hippie guy was working out with some REALLY big guy and they were doing crossfit. When I was coming inside to try out legpress they were both doing frontsquats as well. the big guy barely got 315 for a single and screamed so loud. it was pretty funny. I though he would have been able to get a lot more than 315 cause his legs were huge.

My facial hair sucks lol… thats why I rock the stache… its what I can grow best so I own it. Dont be jelly of the headband. I started wearing them while i was in and would have them on under my mitch helmet to catch the sweat and I’ve just kept wearing them ever since.

MiM- I did have a nice weekend, thank you  How was yours?

I’ve been trying to post in some logs but T-Nation has been all whacked off today… Hopefully they got the bugs worked out. Speaking of working out… (see how I did that? Classic transition)

Hit the gym today for a little chest n tri’s…

flat benches were all being used so started with incline DB’s

Incline DB’s:
worked up to
100’s x 8
110’s x 7

BB Flat Bench: no lock out/mini pause on chest
225 x 8
245 x 8
275 x 4 (lol… I was PUUUUUMPED at this point

Dips:
BW x 20
45 x 12,12,12

low to high cable flys

skull crushers/close grip press:
EZ + 45 on each side 10/10 x 3 (tris were ready to esplode)

Rope press downs

and thats all she wrote. Going back to the gym a little later to train my boo… might get a little bit of abs/conditioning in with her.

Word.
Betcha happy now that me not having a log is one less log you couldn’t respond to =)

Of course the flat benches were all being used, National Bench Day had to be interrupted to party and drink.
Nice training you swole mofo you.

Nice stuff in here Greg!

I always underestimate the hardcore-ness of bands, especially for shoulder work. I used to do band OHPs, bent over lat raises, front raises and side lat raises as a finisher and it would just torch my shoulders!

Anywho, that little conditioning workout looks killer! (i see where you’re going with the bootcamp workout tho, awesome!)

Hope you had a good second sesh! Greg is the swolest of mofos!

Yes, you totally own the 'stache. You should wear your helmet with the headband then man, to complete the look of sheer badassery!

I think it’s safe to say that only the coolest people do clean-grip front squats.

nikki- ok nikki… real talk here… when are you going to start back up a log? Lets be honest with eachother, that jealous catty girl drama seems to be behind us all, I think you’re safe to start one up again. Do it. Do it.

Masch- The bands can be pretty hard core some times (especially for shoulders) I started yesterday with doing something I read in thibs recent spill about hitting a lagging bodypart several times a day lightly… I’m doing it with the resistance band and side laterals. I am really hoping to bring up my delts with it. We’ll see how it goes over the next month or two? Yeah that sort of workout is what I would be planning for the bootcamp. Just get a round robin type of thing going. Maybe time the stations 1-2 minutes and then rotate the people? Still trying to figure it all out.

Ink- hahaha I still have my mitch helmet (and all my body armor. Shhhhhh! Dont tell anyone) but its at my papas house up on his mantle. The thing is bad ass! I’ll see if I can snap a pic in it next time I’m up there so you can see how totally awesome I look lolz

heavy- Oh you know it playboy. Clean grip FS’s are the business.

doing lots of “errands” today… and by errands I mostly mean laundry/cleaning lol… sucks. My fiances cousin is in town and we’re having her over for dinner tonight so I gotta get the place all cleaned up and all my workout clothes are dirty so I cant hit the gym till I get done with the laundry. Gonna hit the gym today for some back/bi’s and gonna work on getting my clean on.

I really want to focus on dropping under the weight and catching it into a front squat. Right now I barely dip under the bar and catch it in the standing position basically. I think if I got better at getting under the weight I could be cleaning a lot more than 245.

^^I dont know what that means but I love it

oh yeah and funny story…

All my workout shorts were dirty so when I got dressed to hit the gym with my fiance last night I grabbed a pair of board shorts and put them on. My fiance says “what’re you going on crossfit on me now? Should I put on some high socks or something?”

So I took em off and put on a pair of cutoff sweat pants lol… she shamed me out of them

^ LOL! I love it!

Re: the cleans. You absolutely right! You essentially have no choice but to drop under the bar as the weight will be too heavy to ‘muscle it up’.

Not sure what kind of bars you’re using, but hopefully they’re Oly bars and they spin, that will make everything much easier! Don’t forget to flick those elbows up and catch on the delts, almost like a shrug. Damn I miss Oly. Sigh.

God speed, my friend!

She’s a keeper, but you knew that already. LOL

Hilarious

You have your headband on too?

masch- yeah I need to work on getting low… i should “drop it like its hot” as they say lol

Ink- haha yes she is. She zinged me good. I didnt have my headband on cause I wasnt working out and wasnt planning on sweating (ended up doing abs at the end and was sweating anyway)

So I was planning on heading to the local rec center and getting a few jumps in and then heading to the gym… that turned into an hour and a half of full court basketball lol.

I went over to the gym anyway but was so tired I could barely get 3x10 good pull ups. Decided to just come home and get after some back n bi’s tomorrow. Basketball was fun but I havent played a full court run in A LOOOOOOOONG time. I was sweating balls and exhausted at the end. I’ll just call it a cardio day

Ok and on another note… I think I am going to drop a little weight. I am currently sitting between 209-212 depending on the day. I think that if I can slowly drop some BF and get down to 200 that I would be lookin nice. A loss of about 10lbs of BF and I would be looking how I wanna look and would also probably be able to dunk. Havent fully decided on this but im about 90% drop 10lbs of fat/get back da hawt abz and i’ll be set for the summer

What sort of diet are you going to do if you do try to cut 10 lbs?
Do you purposefully switch my initials around each time?

I dunno what my reach is. I haven’t balled in a while but I know I can touch rim. The question is how much of my fingers can I get over it. Improving that while gaining weight will be tough.

I’ll try to record a vid of a dunk attempt this weekend so you can see… no promises.
