I haven’t done boxing…world gym here has a TON of those kinds of classes and hardly any step classes and body pump like my gym :barf:
You guys who warm up with complexes are so bad ass.

Kalle- I think i said “not a bad little workout”… definitely wasnt all that quick (probably an hour and a half maybe?) The complex was a little conditioning. i like to start and end my workouts with some conditioning usually.

Speaking of body pump, I was at my normal gym yesterday and there was a body pump class going on. It was JAM PACKED with babes (like always) except in the very back of the class there was a younger guy in there. He was squatting 65lbs or something and was wearing a shirt that said “Alpha Male FITNESS” and the shirt was about being hardcore. I seriously loled and wanted to get a picture of it but I couldnt.

Ok so today I went with my boo and saw that new movie Bridesmaids. Anyone else seen it? OMFG it was hilarious! I think Kristin Wiig is so funny and the bigger girl (who’s name is megan in the movie) was out of control funny! So good.
Ok so I didnt have much time for the gym today so today really was a quick one (Kalle) I went to the new gym which is a quarter mile from my house. So I ran to the gym and decided I was gonna have to bust out a workout so I better make it count.
hopped on the treadmill to do my warm up mile. Havent ran anything close to a mile in 4EVER!!! Ran the mile in 6:53. Was feeling good and would have liked to run it faster but the treadmill maxed out at 10MPH and it kept saying “Cannot maintain desired speed” so it was going 9.6-9.8 most of the time… oh well
So it was warm up mile - 6:53

225 x 8
275 x 4, 4 (PR. I dont think i’ve ever tried more than 225 on front squats)
Single Leg Stiff Leg DB Deadlifts (for da hammies) SUPERSETTED W/ DB Snatches
40LB DB’s x 8 each leg then 70LB Snatch x 5 each arm (wanted to go heavier but I didnt have any straps and didnt wanna risk it)
I did that superset 4 times and then ran a cool down mile in 8:07 (legs felt like jelly) and then jogged home.
it was a real good workout and from leaving my house till I got home took less than an hour. Booya!

I saw that movie this weekend dude, and yeah there were some hilarious parts. Any movie that has a “shit your pants” scene will get my attention, it’s crude humor for retarded men but hey…I don’t care. That was hilarious, and the “car scene” towards the end, when she’s trying to get dude’s attention, LOL! My wife was in tears at that point, haha.

Kalle- hahah yeah that was kind of a confusing post huh? I was thinking that as I typed it out. I’ll be pretty pumped when I get a 315 front squat. I’m sure I could get a single right now but I’m not really into heavy singles for squats ya know? 3 reps is about as low as I go.

Kinda hard to get a good angle on it while really flexing everything… Doesnt really show off my back at its best (IMO) and its a little washed out from the bathroom lights but whatevs… I probably shoulda taken it after a back session so Id be all pumped up. Rookie mistake

Did that 3 times through and rolled out.
Not too bad. just a little extra work in this week for chest, shoulders and tris
you’ll understand soon’ the feeling of seeing 3 plates per side on the front squat.

I love how your “warm up” mile is better than my “everything” mile. Gregron! But seriously, isn’t the mile run great? It goes by fast and is a nice little bit of conditioning, well, unless you’re Gregron and already perfectly conditioned. I put the treadmill on a slight incline btw, Mr. “Cannot maintain desired speed.” Altho, I imagine you don’t want to kill it too much on the running prior to the weights.
Training is looking good, Greg. That is a nice little complex and you’re def moving some serious weight.

Ct- Im really looking forward to repping out 315 on the front squat. Its gonna be saweeeeet. I like that complex. Esploding traps you say? Sounds like a plan. I’m gonna try that complex out next time.
Nikki- Thanks. I havent really done a whole lot of front squatting but I like them. I think I might stick with them for the next couple months and leave out back squats. I think front squats just look way more bad ass… plus i feel them in my quads more
Masch- hahaha well it technically was my “warm up” but I was definitely pushing it. I’m not really one to take it easy most of the time. I liked running the mile. I’ve got this dang shin issue that I have to work with so I’m going to start off with running a mile a couple times and then bump it up to two and then three, yadda yadda yadda. I dont think I’ll need to do any runs that are longer than 4 miles in the academy so I think working up to 4 miles per run and then getting the time down lower and lower will be my goal. I dont see me needing to run much faster than running four 8 minute miles (which wouldnt be hard)
Masch 2.0- Im with ya… I prefer multiples for almost every lift. I’m not really in the iron game for 1RM’s but they definitely have their place. Thanks for the kind words about my pics/conditioning. I’m working on it ![]()
Ink- I’m holding out on my heavy singles until LWI WC… Gotta save em up cause I dont know how many I’ve got in my tank. PR’s are always legit though.
Ct (Again)- Clean singles are the way to go… I agree. With that technical of a lift, I think its best to do singles when going heavy on those to keep the form as tight as possible.
Ok I forgot to mention this yesterday but Inky’s log reminded me of it… I actually took some time yesterday to look around my gym and was AMAZED at how many people were in there completely wasting their time with bullshit stuff. I saw one trainer and his client lying on the ground together gossiping about other gym memebers. I was in shock. I thought they were doing abs or something but for about 4-5 minutes they just were laying on the ground BSing. What?
I saw another trainer who was working out. this guy is my gym arch nemisis and I hate his stupid face. Anyway… he is the fat trainer that leads the abz class that I’ve talked about before (yeah imagine that. the chubbiest trainer leads the abs class lol) So I look over and he has a bunch of dumbbells over with him (30’s max) I see him stand one of them up on the ground and he grabs one dumbbell for each arm. He proceeds to stand on the dumbbell with one foot and do alternating DB Curls. what in the hell?!? It was so retarded.
there was some other BS happening as well but those were the two worst because they were actual “trainers” who were being such a piss poor example to everyone in the gym. sorry for the mini rant but I just really do hate my arch nemisis trainer guy so much! With his stupid half mohawk and his terrible advice and his tapout shorts! Arrrrrrrg!!!
