Marked my true back squat depth (hip crease below top of knee at 5 purple risers and the step) and did all of them to here. It’ll take time before I can just feel the correct depth.

2x135 belt. solid but a bit of a good morning. this will be my starting weight. Next time to hit a dub at 140. I’m not going to fret over the fact that a lot of women my size squat 200+. Add 5lbs each time and I’ll get there soon enough. Slow and steady.

There is nothing, repeat nothing, that I love more than breakfast. Waffles in particular. Also enjoyed the enormous truck parked outside the restaurant in your pic – truck stop, perhaps?? ![]()
Funny that we both did box squats today. I’m going for the risers/step next time, since like you I don’t think the bench is low enough to “legal” depth. BTW, thanks for the description of what legal depth is.
Slow and steady is right. You and me both, 5# at a time.
Squatting used to freak me out a lil, too, but that was when my coach (and bf) at the time refused to go to the gym with me. Yes, he was insane.
So I was scared to squat heavy, I knew I didnt know what I was doing, and that no one around me did!
I could bench 135 before I could squat it. Make u feel better?
You will get so sickeningly strong before you know it!

So… is that like a bench or is the bar above your chest at the lowest point?
When the plates touch the steps my elbows touch the ground = perfect.
