The closer you are to the floor the harder everything gets. I do all of my inverted rows and pushups with my feet up on the 18" box or a swiss ball. I do A LOT of holds and you can make them very hard. Do you have it anchored to a wall or in a doorway where you can get under it?[/quote]

The thing is mounted onto a pullup bar so that I can get under it. Swiss balls there are in abundance! That would work really well for inverted rows and pushups for sure. Plus, I haven’t yet tried decline pushups or atomic pushups with my feet in the straps.

I’d love to see a vid of you doing TRX plus swiss ball.

Kimba-I’ll try to get one up. I took a video today doing pushups with feet in the straps but I can’t get it to load to youtube right now.

I did a full body isometric workout today. Really enjoyed it. 2 hours. http://bobbiskai.blogspot.com/2010/05/full-body-lift-iso-holds.html

guess I gotta switch back to regular inverted rows! How do you progress from those though? more reps? a plate on the tummy?

I’ve been doing ‘rack chins,’ with my feet on a bench.

Wow, that workout with the isometric holds sounds very intense! I’m not surprised the pukey fairy tried to sneak up on you. :stuck_out_tongue:

What are you hoping to accomplish with the iso holds? More hypertrophy, better endurance? (Sorry if that’s a stupid question.)

Those front lever pull ups look like a really great total-body exercise - have you done them yet?

Today’s 3 hour fun time http://bobbiskai.blogspot.com/2010/05/tbar-deads-and-iso-holds.html

Rblue - I do the iso holds for endurance for my ground game AND strength. You’d be amazed how much stronger you can get doing them.

I do the front lever pullups in a half-tucked position and can do a lot of them, more than regular pullups. I’m working on getting the full lever. The weakness is in my abs, not my back. Fattehhhhh lol

Love your crazy 3 hour workouts.

That makes sense about the iso holds. And I see no ‘fatteh’, but yeah, ab strength would definitely be a limiting factor on those for me as well. :stuck_out_tongue:

Strait pulling 3 hour lift, lots of iso holds again. Starting to look good, getting separation in the shoulders. Legs even look alright… http://bobbiskai.blogspot.com/2010/06/pulling-and-iso-holds.html

Bobbi, those pullups are insane.

Are you planning to set up your business in San Diego?

Sick training Bobbi. 3 hours is a serious session!!

kimba - yea I plan to continue private in-home/in-office training in San Diego - that’s why I’ve been on a cut!

Masch - thanks, I see you’re still going hard too!

Hey crazy, those lever pull up things are insane.
I have tried them. I don’t have the stability/core strength I suppose. Which is depressing.
yay for 3 hour workouts. Mine used to be that long, but now all the people I go with are pussies and bullshit lifters who lift for 40 minutes and are done. So I had to start breaking up my workouts to twice a day. which is better anyways.

Mel-come to SD this fall and get your lift on w me anytime

Annihilated back again today. Another 3 hour LIFT - no bag work. Currently feel like crap.haha. It’s funny how my arms are tiny (12 and a quarter) but look bigger than they ever have…ah cutting…

http://bobbiskai.blogspot.com/2010/06/tbar-deads-and-iso-holds.html

Here’s that dip video

Never tried Tbar DL. I might before and if I switch to conventional.

HAH! You’re tiny diesel. 12 in arms ain’t nothing to laugh about. “parallel 25” pullups?

What your diet like?

Those dips were AWESOME! I am totally going to try that.

Masch - parallel 25 means me plus 25lbs and here’s the post about my cutting diet http://bobbiskai.blogspot.com/2010/05/fatteh.html I feel so tiny right now, when I pop below 123 I’ll shoot a posing vid and take some pics and then start going back up in weight. Hopefully I can hit it in the next 2 weeks so that would be a 6 week, 7lb cut.

Kimba - let me know what kind of looks you get! haha. This was 2 hours into my lift so they’re kind of weak sauce…I bet you could do a ton of em.

I feel like I’ve been hit by a truck.lol. Those DLs dominated me and now I can’t get up, lay down, roll over, lean or walk.haha

ahhh yes, i remember reading this post (i.e. oogling your pic)

i can’t believe that’s all it takes for you to lean out (bitch) - can’t wait to see the follow-up!!

But at least you can type. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hope the DOMS eases up for ya!

Edit: Oh, and those dips were badass.
