5x100 PR (+4 reps) At first I was “scared” of the weight because I missed the double last time. I walked up to it and walked away a couple times because that voice in the back of my head kept saying I’d miss. Finally I just threw that scared shit out and psyched up. “I’m gonna throw this up like a little bitch.” Ripped it out of the rack. BOOM. Up like cake.

Standing I hold one in each hand at my sides. It’s a mental exercise more than anything. I keep my head down and curse myself out under my breath to hang on just a little bit longer. I like it.

Awesome jerking! I would be very pleased to get 100lbs over my head once, never mind five times.

ok… that’s what i was picturing. cool. i wish i had access to some big dumbbells.

although i’d be afraid my monkey arms were gonna get stretched out even longer. haha

Don’t you bench like 180? I would think you’d put quite a bit overhead

Nah. The guy who spotted me spotted far too much, so I don’t count it, to be honest. I am doing 12 reps at 110lbs and 5 reps at 132lbs, usually. Singles in the 150s. I will go for that 80kg lift again but I need to find a spotter who will let me get on with it.

As for overheads, I’ve done 105lbs, one rep push press, but that was a couple of years ago and before my last batch of shoulder trouble. I’ve got issues with both rotator cuffs so I tend to suck at the overhead stuff. I can’t do a single pull-up (I can just about manage 5 chins on a good day). Working on it, though.

U-L35 Lower 17

Got all pumped up but then went into the chiro because he could fit me in before my lift. Spent an hour getting adjusted and massaged so the lift was really flat. Plus I was rushed. Ah well.

Squat (to 5 risers+step)
5x45
5x75
5x95
2x115
2x140 belt (+5lbs)
10x95

DB split sq 10x40 (+2 reps)

45 back ext 10x85 (+5lb)

Seated calves in/out/forward 17x100 (+2 reps)

Cable crunch 25x65 (+5 reps)
Leg raise 25xbw (+5 reps)

Reverse curl 10x50 (+2 reps)

140# to five risers is definitely something good to show for a supposedly “flat” day. That must be parallel for you, seeing as you are taller than me and I am intimately familiar with how low four risers is.

Yea 5 is parallel. I’m going to try a wider stance. I feel so damn lanky. Lifting has been flat with all the work. egh.

U-L35 Upper 18

Clean
5x45
5x65
2x95
1x110 (+5lb) wacked my knee on the way up, made the catch but was totally psyched out for any more. This is going to jump up as I smooth out my form. First goal is 135.
3x95

DB Incline press 8x40 (+5lb)

UH pullup 8xbw (+1 rep)
OH seated row 10x100

Narrow ez curl 10x50
DB bent over curl 12x20
Cable curl 12x30

Standing ez tri ext 10x50
UH pressdown 8x42.5

Decline sits (weight behind head is a lot harder) 10x10

HS shrug 5x255 eck. grip strength was gone.

The very thought of doing cleans psychs me out. Did you really do 100 decline sits? If so, you animal.

damn nice! that’s my goal too. do you have bumper plates at ur gym?

no weight… it better not be 128 again!

since she mentioned weight behind her head i thought she meant 10 lbs for 10 reps.

No bumpers. Eventually I will get my place opened up and it will have bumpers - that’s what all the work is these days.

Weight is not good. Been so BUSY! eek

I would happily do 100. Last time I did them in sets of 50 no big deal but damn put a tiny plate behind your head and those things get HARD.

Your own gym? Awesome! Best of luck with that.

Well when you put it that way ;+)

How tall are you, btw?

We have an actual ‘box,’ and below parallel for me is the thing on the second to last hole…sigh.

your own gym? How exciting!! Hope all is well…

I’m 5’6.

I didn’t lift today but I did SINGLE leg deadlift 95 like it was nothing on a client challenge. Then he had to do it for the rest of his sets because - duh - a girl can’t lift more than him!

ha ha ha! I like your style.

Barbell? These are on my agenda for tonight’s workout as I’ve been slacking on single leg work recently. My limitation on these is my terrible balance – falling over holding a loaded barbell might be a problem.

I don’t know why I find it so cool that you have your own clients. Probably the capacity to be paid to inflict pain.
Heavy cleans look neat. I’m going to try hitting numbers like that one of those days.
