Bob Whelan

I was wondering if anyone has heard of and/or tried Bob Whelan’s training methods. In general, he pushes two whole body workouts per week, heavy weights, 2-3 sets per exercise, and an equal emphisis on pushing and pulling movements. I like what he has to say about not using steroids or even supplements. If anyone has had success with this style of traing, I would love to hear about it.

I have visited his site before and like his no nonsense attitude toward natural training. He’s a bit of a Hammer strength freak…but no one is perfect.

I’m not fond of the twice per week sessions. I think CW has a far better idea hitting it more frequently with a tad less intensity.

Way back in the 40’s and 50’s Bob Hoffman used to recommend a program. Train three times per week; heavy, medium, light. That too is one of the finest ways to gain, in my opinion.

I’ve tried training three times per week and always made good progress. I’ve read some stuff by Hoffman, and am a big fan of Bradley Steiner. I have no interest in competition, which is why I like the “simple” training.
