I messed up my left shoulder (non dominant dont know if this matters)going too low on weighted dips. Its not a constant pain but when I lower my left shoulder. It starts right at the joint where my humerus (I think) enters the shoulder joint thing. It shoots up through my trap. Anyone have this and if so recovery time?
sounds like exactaly what i have. unfortunatley i couldnt tell you what that is. i have no insurance at the time so i havent been able to get to a doc. i have had this problem for about 6 months. it hurts on every upper body workout and goes away by the next day. the only thing that has worked for me is ice and ibuprofren/aleve.
As any doctor would say, rest for three weeks, ice and aspirin as necessary. If the pain subsides, ease back into training. If not, schedule a visit with an orthopedist.
Do NOT continue as you were. They can replace hips and knees, but I assure you, no such simple fix exists for damaged shoulders. Injuries of this sort have a tendency of resurfacing at the most inopportune moments later in life.
