Just go back from an 8 day vacation. Literally the longest I have ever been!!!
People (especially Olympic weightlifters) are always posting on social media āhavenāt lifted for 5 days, lifts way offā⦠well I think itās BS.
Workouts was fun. I did some staggered supersets to get some bench press in.

The 1 ton challenge is an actual (internet) thing. I have actually competed in a super total contest but before I did I thought vertical press, clean (no jerk), squat, bench, deadlift was a good ābroā combo.
Havenāt posted much training for a while so I dropped in a vid today.
No snatch
Cleans + front squat.
Jerks.
Trying to keep volume low as I acclimate to being more steady. I missed a clean at 147k/325#. I had plenty of strength but was leaving everything out front. Annoying.
Iāve had some bad luck lately. I pulled my groin wrestling with dog. Dropped a 10 on my foot pulling plates off an incline bench. Cut my toe stepping off a 2ā ladder. All has set me back a day or two and it adds up! Iāve got some annoying golfers elbow which flares up every year.
Jerks were just ok, the weight moved but technique was not elite caliber. Went to 166/365. It hurt. I should be jerking 175 easy.
Kept workout short so recovery would be quick and back in the gym.
The weight felt really good today. Went to 120k/265# on top snatch complex.
Looking at the vids, they looked like shit. Some knee valgus showing Iāve lost some strength. Now the squats, didnt feel great. Top set 188k/415# for a single⦠i ought to squat 200k/440# without breaking a sweat. The videos looked really good and controlled. Ugh.
