Yeah, pretty awesome. It was a good time for sure. If I can find one in the area that seems to be at a good time, I’ll get in on that.

Bench is making nice steady progress dude! 5/3/1 seems to be treating you well.

warrior costume was very cool

spotting for bench without a cage is crazy! it’s asking for head injuries.

hope your thumb is feeling better.

Thanks man. I’m enjoying the structure, at the very least.

Thanks frenchie!

Yeah, I didn’t think it was a very good idea either, but I was just a volunteer, so I didn’t feel I had much say in the matter.

Thumb is doing quite well, doesn’t really even ache anymore.

Mmk still being bad about posting workouts, here’s the last two.

Solid PRs as usual, keep us posted! Hows the weight gain coming along? Doing anything special with the diet?

Hahah. Bring it on, sir. If there’s one thing I have confidence in my ability to progress, it’s my back workouts.

[quote]phlegms wrote:

Thanks brah. Weight gain has stagnated a bit, sitting at about 196 as of today. Diet is the same as usual, 1.5lbs meat, .5 gals milk, 6 scoops protein, 2 bananas a day as the base, then snacks beyond that.

I also woke up at 196 today. I’ve been losing fat and gaining muscle visibly for the past 9 weeks or so but my weight has not shot up too much due to extra cardio in the past 4.

I like this thread 'cus we’re at a similar level in terms of weight and some of our working weights. Great PRs though… it’s good being this level because you really do hit sessions w/ “nearly all prs” when you eat enough and recover for it. CGBP/Hammers looking good. I’ve got to catch you on both… with your hammers, does grip become an issue at all or do you have your hand against the “plates” on the dumbbell once your grip in the center gives out? (if you know what I mean)

Solid man. Yeah, I always like following hte logs of people at similiar levels. For the hammers, I DO put my thumbs against the plates, just so I can focus on the lift and not gripping the db.

Chest/Bis

Flat Bench
new 5/3/1 cycle, 5’s day
190x5
205x5
215x10 PR Pretty happy with this, a couple weeks ago I repped out with 210 and only got 7 (I think).

Incline DB Press
80’sx8
85’sx8
90’sx8
95’sx8 (recent PR)

Fly machine
135x12
140x12

HS Inc Cross-body Press

45ps (bilateral, no lockout) x26

DB Curls
45’sx8
50’ssx8
55’sx8 (+2 reps all sets)
60’sx6 (slghtly cleaner)

Meadows Hammers
45’sx8
50’sx8
55’sx8
60’sx8 PR (+2 reps all sets)

Then I cut the bicep work short to get some time to hit abs, as I haven’t done them in forever.

Superset of
Captains chair leg raisesx12
Blast Strap Falloutx6
(x3 total)

Abs literally cramped when I went to pick up my logbook at one point…need to get back on my ab work lol.

@Blaze: Well obviously, when you do your hammers, your cheating then  But seriously, I only do it when I have to to extend the set… mainly because I view the grip side as part of the forearm building your trying to improve with hammers. Chest session looks pretty solid, decent PR decent DB pressing weights back to back is cool. May have to try this “cross-body incline press” when I stagnate for long enough on the HS inc.

that bench is improving Blaze

Thanks Jake and Frenchie!

Have been offline for over a week.

Had a couple workouts over the time since i posted.

Turned 21 on the 20th, had a good thanksgiving.

Hitting it hard again starting today. Worked out with a friend who does lots of supersets and the like today, so I tried his workout just to get some variety.

Chest/Bi’s

Flat BB Bench
135x5
185x5
225x6
225x6
225x4 1f
(next sets are done with each rep as slow as possible, and the failed rep is a 10 second negative)
225x3 1F
225x2 1F
(seeing as my all time best with 225 was like 6 1F, i’m pretty happy with this)

Incline BB
185x5
185x5
185x5

Flat DB Burnout (1 min rest)
55’sx20
55’sx16
55’sx11
chest so fried

65x5/50’sx5
65x5/40’sx5
65x5/40’sx5
65x5/40’sx4 1F

Bent over curl (pretty much a spider curl without a pad)/Preacher Curl superset
35x5/35x7
35x5/35x7
35x5/35x7

Rope Hammer Curl
3 setsxAMAP
1 4 stage dropset of AMAP

Curl weights are deceptive, this is the sorest my biceps have been in at least a year. Painnn.

Where has your gigantic ass been?

Good to see you hitting it hard again, keep the updates coming.

ITS BEEN SO LONG.

But seriously, benching is looking pretty solid man

Getting a gigantic rest week in. lol. Where has yours been? And i hear I missed Rock Reveal 2.0? I thought you loved me?

Thanks man. I will do so.

Haha. It feels like it’s been forever. Thanks man. Appreciate it.

Legs

barely ate today, didn’t help for my workout.

Squat
135x10
185x10
185x10
185x10
185x10
185x15

Annnd that’s it. Tried to do straight legs and my quads were cramping. Got a big compression headache too. Need to get used to doing higher reps on squats again. Hams and quads are crazy tight still.

Did some abs after,
Straight leg raisesx15/blast strap falloutsx6
(x3)
abs died.

Must’ve been all that blacked out posing.
