Yeah, for the Together Team <3
Really won’t call it a stumble lol
Today I was going to do conditioning only, but I’ll do some legs and farmer walks since you’re gonna muddle through it with me.

Hey Blaze. It’s 4:15 AM here. My sleep disordered self has been paging through your log.
Nice training! Congrats on all the PRs. You seem to be on fire. Nice mud pic of you and your training partner. You guys are looking great. Now I know what’s under the black spot in your avi. ![]()
And I saw a 315 squat and a 415 DL. Good grief, man! You are inspiring me to see what I can curl on an EZ bar, and I’m getting some ideas for shoulder variations. I never had delts before! LOL! I’ve got a ways to go. My rear delts really need some work.
Haha. Thanks for stopping in! Yeah I figured if people wanna see my face, they have to look for it. lol. I actually mostly do barbell curls, but yeah they’re def. something to focus on. Shoulder variations are always good as well.
For rear delts, I’d either do a reverse pec deck/fly if you have it, or do rear delt raises on an incline bench. As John Meadows talked about in his shoulder article, high reps for rear delts are awesome. I’m talking 3-4 sets of 20-35 reps. I think I started with 10’s or 15’s, and still struggled to get 20 or so.

As of now my bench is 265, deadlift is 365, and squat is 295. I haven’t maxed my squat this year since I focused on doing front squats. I just suck at the lower body lifts, hopefully they’ll increase a little.
Ah gotcha. I bet the front squats will have raised your back squat a decent amount. I feel like all the front squatting I did before I got a belt that let me back squat really helped my numbers.

nice little PR progression in here
now I know why you stumbled into PW. We mostly workout, talk about noms, and flirt. and plenty of sexy pics too. It’s a good place to hangout.
and strongman for the win - those guys are wicked hot. watched a competition this past march and it was loads of fun.

Thanks Frenchie! I went into the PW to check out Nikki’s log and quickly decided it was my sort of place. Based off that description, I’m gonna spend more time there now, haha. I’m really looking forward to trying the strongman stuff out. Apparently, the stone and pressing area is inside, so even if it’s raining (It’s not so far, so i’m crossing my fingers), I’m going to get to try something strongman today.

I don’t stumble, I’m really graceful…
ok, I’m not, but that can be our little secret ![]()
Awesome. Together Team ftw!
Random Song by one of my favorite bands:
Dude, all this talk about you potentially not training in the rain is making me wish it would rain her, just so I could go outside and figure some nasty training to do. Prowler + hill sprints + rain = epic training session, I’m thinkin!

I most certainly hope so, I’d so PSYCHED to hit a 315 squat.

This was pretty hard. You felt crazy unstable, you can see me wavering back and forth some in the video.
Then we moved on to the Atlas stone. Edit: stone weighs 190lbs
Then we tried log presses
Edit: log weighs 115lbs
Unloaded for reps:
Log+50lbs (165lbs)- managed to rack it, but couldn’t pull off the press. It doesn’t help that I did shoulders yesterday.
Aaand that’s it. I’m crazy tired. I got to the gym at two, went straight to the strongman place at 3:20, and got done around 5:20, so that’s three and a third hours. Time to get some protein.
The squats looked easy, you definitely can add weight to that PR. Strongman session looked kick ass, do you plan on training with them on a regular basis?
I’m so proud to be a part of Together Team. You’re awesome.
Congrats on another squat PR; looked way too easy for you.
Strongman’s a good look on you. Are you going to do it somewhat regularly?
EDIT- Sorry, I see Aqua asked about doing Strongman regularly. Grr.

Haha thanks man. They were harder than they looked (as always) lol. My main problem remains the same: sort of falling forward on each rep, and doing a half-good morning. Strongman stuff was a lot of fun. I actually did it with Tyler and Matt (my usual lifting partners). The amateur strongman couldn’t make it, but gave me his card to get in to the equipment shed.
I’m hoping to do this sort of training from time to time as a supplementary form of lifting. If I have to chose between one or the other, I’m going to keep doing standard training, but I def. think this strongman stuff is a lot of fun. The amateur strongman invited me to do farmers walks/holds with him tomorrow, I might have to take him up on the offer. We’ll see. Depends on how late I get out of class tomorrow though.

<3 I’m glad to be a part of Together Team too!
Thanks! It didn’t feel easy, that’s for sure.
I’m going to try to do it as often as I can along with my regular training. I gave a more detailed response in the post above this one.
Jealous of your strong man training!!!
Oh hi!
Crazy PRs in here…go YOU!! ![]()
Yeah, Aqua copied what I said 24 minutes before I wrote it. Bah.

Hi! Yay for new people in my log! Thanks a lot! I’ve got some momentum going PR and strength gain wise, and I’m trying to keep it going for as long as possible!

I hate it when people do that.
haha. AC, stop reading Nikki’s mind. lol.
It’s a curse and a gift.
PR’s and a strongman workout - you hit it hard Blaze.
hope you are eating enough to keep that fire burning man.
the strongman vids looked easy for you ![]()

Haha. I certainly try to hit it hard.
It’s funny you should say that. I took a pre-workout sample packet I had (1.M.R) and something about it is making me crash hard, so I haven’t been eating much, as I just had to take a 40 min. nap, and am still tired. Woke up for the sole purpose of trying to make myself eat a pork chop and some rice though, so hopefully I can still get most of my cals in for the day.
Thanks :). They weren’t nearly as easy as they looked. The atlas stone was really hard. Bending over like that and pulling my bodyweight up onto my lap, then raising it up on my chest was pretty difficult. Thanks for stopping in on my log!
The Strongman stuff looks soo fun.
Something different to learn.
You should be able to eat a side of beef tonight! Eat!
This guy lives in my area. He trains a group of 3 or 4 women one night a week, not so much strongman, just weight training I think. I may eventually try to train with him, but it’s expensive so for now I’m doing my own thang. Enjoy.

Yeah it’s pretty fun for sure.
I’m gonna try to put down as much food as possible, though I don’t know how much that’ll be.
That’d be awesome training with someone of his level. I think I’d eventually like to try both a powerlifting and strongman contest, though I’m not entirely sure when I’ll get to it. Late summer or fall would be awesome.
pPuff- you should contact the local chairperson for strongman in your area…it should be FREE to train…or at least drop by and check it out. If that person isn’t close by, he/she should be able to hook you up with someone that might be…

Thats what I did…and was going to train for a comp, but there wasn’t ever in my area or the timing wasn’t right.
Hi Blaze!
After watching your squat vids, I’ll tell you 3 things.
Depth looked great and you can easily add to that PR.
Push your knees out, they were wobbling all over.
TAKE OFF YOUR SHOES! (Or get some flatter shoes like chucks)
After watching your strongman training…I’m jelly!

Haha. All noted. I tried to push out my knees, but they’re still problematic for me.
I do need to take off my shoes, but they yell at you for lifting barefoot at my gym and I keep forgetting to.
The strongman was a lot of fun.
I’m not sure if I want to drop progression on squats from 10lbs/week to 5lbs/week to give me more time to work on correcting form. Thoughts?
