Looks like you met a helluva lifter. You damn well better share what you learn from this guy!
Have you considered throwing shot like a baseball? A good outfielder can throw a baseball 300+ feet, why couldn’t you throw a heavier and larger baseball 45+ feet using the same method?

hahaha! I really thought you were serious there for a minute.
And im gonna try and get up to his gym after the seasons over in march, hopefully he can get me those PR’s ive been chasin for a few months now.
I was pretty pissed with the 225 set on bench. I was doing really good until I got to the 5th rep and not only did the bar hit the peg, but it was dragging along the safety pins on the rack, really messed me up. But the 235 set made up for it, I went nice and slow and was only expecting 4, and got 5!
Ill only be lifting 2x a week, maybe 3 for the rest of January. My plan is bench on sunday, squat+deadlift monday, meet on friday.

Good luck on the meets and I’m sorry to hear that about lifting.
Sounds like you’ve lost some motivation to lift, or maybe I’m just reading to much into that.
Also, great job on the CG 235x5 and 225x8, I don’t know if I could do that
Thank you. I wouldnt say ive lost motivation to lift, I just think track is more important at this point in time. It’s my senior year and sadly, im one of the best throwers (I only throw 40 and change, which is horrible), so the team really needs me.
I got the first three reps nice and clean. As I was going for my fourth rep I lost my grip (no chalk today) and dropped it 3/4 of the way up. I waited about 20 seconds and got a good slap in the face and finished the last rep. If you wanna call that an extra set whatever…
I didn’t think I would have been in any kind of shape to DL today, but I was obviousley wrong. This will be my last workout this week, and then I have the meet on monday. shashashaaa.

Looks like the deadlift is getting along nicely, good job.
What’s your current template?
Dont really have one at the moment. Ive just been trying to work around my meet day and practices. So whenever im in the weightroom ill try and lift. At the end of this month I will be switching back to 5/3/1.
T-bar rows: (not including bar weight)
45x10
80x10
90x10
135x12
140x12
Bench felt really good. Ive been controlling the weight more and lowering it slower, it’s seemed to help me alot. Was aiming for three with 250 and got 4, which is always satisfying. But I tried 2 w/ 275 and that didnt happen, didnt even attempt the other rep.
Db incline whooped my ass, I was really tired after this.
T-bar rows felt really good. Only my 2nd time doing them (forgot to write that down that I did them last bench workout). They feel sooo much better than BB or DB rows.

Solid! looks like trainings been going well dispite being inseason, congrats and keep killing it.
Could you post a video of some of your throws, powerthrows and full throws? I might be able to make some suggestions that could help you hit 45’ soon so you can avoid whatever crazy warmup you’re being forced into. Glide or spin?
Whup - Thanks man, it’s never enough, but I do like where my strength is.
RM - Thanks dude, theres only about a month between indoor and outdoor, so I hope to try and max on squat and bench then.
Bluejay - Thanks for commenting on my log. Here’s a video of my glide from last friday. Please read the comments I made in the descrpition, I have a general idea of what im doing wrong, but everything else im clueless:
Alk: Thanks dude. I can relate, I didnt even know what shotput was until last year. Nice job on your maxes btw, when you startin your log back up?
Thanks again everyone for commenting on my log and encourageing me!
