KB session tonight included lots of swings. Felt good! Came home and managed to knock out my goblets, though I went a little lighter today. Yeah, baby…25#KB x 70 goblet squats!!!
hi!
sorry i’m late… kettlebells? how cool! i totally get ‘something i can call my own’. enjoyed your vid. i play with kettlebells sometimes but my acceleration is a hell of a lot better than my de-acelleration and i worry i’ll hurt my back since my abs kinda go AWOL… never seen equators before. some cool things for me to try (probably just need to suck it up and go lighter)

X 2 Im still hanging with you there KBgal
4/11/12
front squats - Felt way more consistent today…
bar x 5 x 1
65 x 4 x 1
85 x 4 x 1
105 x 4 x 6 (Video shows the 2nd or 3rd set; I think the one I did before looked a little better, but I’ll take this one.)
SLDL (Smith)
95 x 8 x 1
115 x 8 x 1
135 x 8 x 5
one-legged press
70 x 9 x 2 (or 3? Had to stop there to get the kiddies.)
That’s it for now. Boot camp tonight.
damn good looking front sqauts!
Who’s that ugly-loud-mouth-know-it-all-bald-Prick ?
Easy-Peasy!

Thank you, Coach! See what happens when I actually listen?! LOL
There must be some mistake…the good-looking-knowledgable-knows-how-to-push-me-to-be-my-best-gentleman in the video is my awesome trainer! (Description subject to editing pending tonight’s boot camp, esp. if P-Rick shows up. haha!) ![]()
Ok, time to finish prep for Daisy Girl Scout meeting this afteroon. See ya for boot camp - and yes, I’m upping the water this afternoon.

Hi Alexus! Thanks for stopping by!
I hear ya on abs going AWOL; even after all this time, I still need reminders now and then. Someone else just said that same thing about not having seen equators (make sure you keep the bell at the level of your navel to feel it in the shoulders); my coach is Rick Fischer, and he puts together some fun/challenging stuff for us (like KB swing jumps).
btw, saw the vid you recently posted in Up’s log. Impressed with those chins! I got a bar last Christmas but haven’t worked on them enough. Can’t seem to get past one or two at a time! A friend told me to just do one (or however many I can manage eventually) each time I pass the bar so that I’m actually trying to DO them. Just need to keep at it. ![]()

Continuing to follow your log, DJ, so I know you’ve kept up with the goblets (and have been throwing in extras!). Not done yet but I’m feeling confident about finishing the challenge!
I honestly think with doing this I has helped my form and should carry over really nicely for back and front squat.

Nice! hmmm…wonder if it’s helped me get my front squat going without me even knowing…
Well, the challenge has inspired at least 2 gals I know to give it a go. One says she’ll go to 50, because she doesn’t think she can do more, but I know she has it in her to keep going if she decides to do so.
Didn’t post but got these done yesterday:
30#KB x 70 goblet squats (to make up for Wednesday, because it was just not going to happen having had leg day in the morning then boot camp in the evening)
30#KB x 71 goblet squats
Someone said that I’d die doing 141 in one day, but I knew I had managed 160 during a couple KB classes, so it was a done deal. All in your head…easy-peasy. ![]()
Bench day later this morning
Upper body today…
bench
bar x 5 x 1
65 x 3 x 1
70 x 3 x 6 - Felt way better than last time. Was more conscious of staying tight and controlling bar so that I rowed it down instead of just letting it drop (though I still did that the first couple of sets).
snatch grip upright row (smith)
bar x 10 x 1
65 x 5 x 1
90 x 5 x 1
105 x 5 x 4
shoulder press (smith)
bar x 10 x 1
65 x 5 x 1
85 x 5 x 3
lat pulldowns supersetted w/dips
pulldowns: 80 x 5reps x 4 sets
dips:
BW x 5 x 1
BW x 3 x 1 - Managed to go lower on this and the last two sets.
BW x 4 x 2
Yay! Already up from last week when I did one set each of 4/3/4 reps.
Ran out of time for hammer curls today.
Then at home: 30#KB x 73 goblet squats. Day 73 of 100 done!
Good day. Forward progress achieved. ![]()

Glad I’m back?! Ha, where have YOU been!!! Never mind…will go check your log as I’m sure I’ll get details there. ![]()
Yes, I’ve been working hard, thank you very much. Going nice and steady and having a blast!
Ha, love the link! Yes, DLs will come at some point.
Great to see you back!

Hey, Jack! Thanks! Yes, Fischer and I kid around a lot but in all seriousness, those of us who have had an opportunity to train with him know that he has a gift for teaching, so it’s up to us to be coachable.
(Funny that you stopped by…I was just reading the most recent post on your log a second ago. Nice work!)
Gotta agree those front squats looked good.

I was just teasing. Rick’s the real deal, I’ve learned a lot from him on here. Keep up the good, hard work.

Whew…just got back from his Sat. morning KB class…lately known as “KB swing/goblet squat central!” Good stuff!
