Greg- I haven’t been following very closely to be honest. I’m not a fan of drama and scandal in sports (which is why I avoid the PL forums too). On one hand, the situation pisses me off because I feel like we’ve lost credibility as a team/school and a good coach as a result of what happened. But on the other hand, stuff like this happens all over the place and will continue to happen. OSU just happened to be the latest to get caught. Whatever.

Cal- I don’t really know where the wagon even is at the moment. Yesterday SH and I went out for dinner and we had appetizers and then ice cream. I seriously had a food hangover today and don’t want to eat junk like that again for a loooooong time. I’m not really “dieting” right now but I do have cals/macros to hit in a day. I do ok most of the time. After the July meet I’ll probably attempt to be less of a fatty.

Frenchie- never TMI. Yes that’s the swimsuit. The top/front looks like any other suit, but the back is a little skimpy. I like how it looks, I’m just a little eeeek about wearing it to the beach.

Yes. My eating window is typically noon-10pm not so much because its better for women, but because my diet isn’t very strict at the moment. I have high days when I train and lower ones when I don’t and I hit my macros most of the time. After the meet things will probably tighten up a bit but right now my focus is getting stronger and recovering.

And that was it. I went to the gym just to walk which seems silly, but its been so hot lately (95 today! eek) I have no choice but to do cardio indoors.

MIM- Thanks. I think getting the cardio in is a greater accomplishment than any of the lifting that I did this week. I hate it that much. lol

Veggie- I have the worst taste in workout music ever. The love for awful gangsta rap is a result of my time training at the PL gym in Ohio. That’s all they played. Thanks for the compliments! DL has been a struggle for me over the last year or so. I’m happy it’s coming along at the moment. New suit came from Doll Swimwear. They’ve got some really cute stuff and its all pretty cheap too. Took a little longer to get warmed up today but squats felt good once I got going. Left rear delt felt ick when I was all tight and pinched up under the bar. I need to figure out a way to get it and my left tri loosened up that doesn’t involve SH rubbing it. He doesn’t seem to have the attention span for that.

I’d much rather do something short and intense (prowler, tabata, bw circuits, etc) than plain old steady state but that’s the sort of stuff that tends to wear me out or get me hurt. And with meet training in full force now that is not an option. I’ve actually had some pretty good cardio days lately. Must be the combo of caffeine and allergy meds (ephedrine) that’s helping.

I’m super jealous of your new gym btw. Sounds like they have all kinds of fun stuff there. I tried a jacobs ladder once. Couldn’t get a steady rhythm going for anything. Major props for that. My fav cardio machine is actually the stepmill. Not a stepper, but the stairmaster with rotating steps. Unfortunately my current gym doesn’t have one. They’ve got some cool stuff like TRX, ropes, and plyo boxes, but their cardio equipment selection is pretty limited.

Going to the gym just to walk seems silly, but its been so hot lately that I can’t do it outside. The lower back sweat starts pooling just getting into the car.

We have a stepmill and I’ve never gotten on the thing. Now you are making me want to try it. And I’m with you on the heat. That just doesn’t work for me. In the summer I have to run really EARLY, like 7:30 am or earlier, or it isn’t happening.

Now must research Doll swimwear. Super cute.

I like to run outside and that’s about it. I’ve done cardio indoors and I find it mind-numbingly awful. At least outside I get to surround myself with nature for a bit (and there’s a surprising amount of nature in my part of London) which is a good antidote to being surrounded by electronic gadgets.

Re: high intensity stuff, I’ve done my share of sprints. I also like kettlebell swings for that. Unfortuantely I don’t have access to a prowler - that sounds fun.

forearm/ tricep- put a rolling pin on the counter/table. roll your tri on that.

SH is off the hook for that one.

Puff- The starimaster is great. Try it out some time. It will get you pretty quick if you keep the pace fast and your legs/glutes will loooove you for it. Working much of the weekend, but I’ll try to have some fun too. Same to you.

Cal- I have mixed feelings about outdoor cardio. Much more interesting and there’s no need to worry about what time the outdoors closes, but I also like to be able to set a speed and incline on the treadmill. Prowler can be brutal, I wouldn’t be too upset about not having one around.
