kmcnyc- I never really noticed that training affected my sleep one way or the other. The way I’ve been training hasn’t changed much either. I’ve always been an early bird but had been having trouble getting up lately. My classes were night classes this last semester so sometimes I’d get home late-ish or go to the gym afterwards and find myself up and still ready to go at 10-12 at night. Maybe I’m sort of shifting back to my “normal” sleep pattern.

bear- Come over here. I’ll get you some sleepy time tea, melatonin, and some lavender massage oil. And if that doesn’t do the trick, I’m sure we can find other ways to occupy our time…

ironcross- I guess that’s one way to look at it.

OHP didn’t feel great so I just did the bar for a few sets and super-setted with shoulder dislocates. I decided I’d do a few sets of back/bis and avoid any more pressing/tri stuff. Finished up on pullups and decided I was done. Used the elliptical with the moving arms to try to get a little blood moving in my arms and then stretched more. I guess its time to bust out the fish oil and curcumin and see if that helps.

And someone caught me on my second set of pullups.

I’m with you on the sleep situ - i get up earlier everyday with the change of weather. Mostly because my cats are fucking nuts. Today I was up at 4:30a! UGH! But I’m a morning person, so this actually bodes well for me. I’m the opposite of cbear - better to stay awake through chemistry. HAH!

Masch- Now that you mention it, it might have something to do with the fact that the sun comes up before 10am now that its just about summer. Gotta admit that I love a nice strong cup of coffee any time of the day. BBut I’ve been drinking more than I should lately.

Oh…thought you actually dislocated your shoulder…I was going to let you in on a little secret that dislocating your arm stunts your strength.

I’m waking up between 4 and 5am at the moment, due to the light. Joys of being in the northern hemisphere. On workdays I’m often knackered enough I end up going to bed around 9pm as a result.

We can’t get Melatonin in the UK except on prescription but the times when I’ve brought it back from the US, I’ve found it makes me feel very groggy and shitty and no more well rested. ZMA seems to help, though.

melatonin and valerian are 2 well known sleep aids that causes some negative side affects with many people such as morning hangovers and nightmares…

Don’t know anything about Dan John’s take on Tabata. Maybe I’ll look it up tomorrow. If I’m going to do Tabata, I prefer some sort of BW exercise to anything loaded. Today I was just feeling fat and wanted to do something hard, but didn’t actually want to go heavy.

Right now, I’ve got to get to bed. Early morning at work tomorrow. No pretending to like church again, thank goodness, but no yummy food either :frowning:

I’ve done a whole lot of those band stretches up there. Wicked internal rotated shoulders when I started, but I’ve made a lot of progress fixing it.
