The thing I’m most excited about is the 150 CALORIE A PINT ice cream that we finally found.
Oh yeah? Well I found ice cream that’s 125 calories per pint! Beat that! I win!

The question is who eats just a pint of ice cream?

okay…so basically elbows should stay at your sides and pointed back? not out and up?
I’m shouting “LATS! ELBOWS!” at her in the video. Squeezing your lats and (trying to) force your elbows under the bar keeps an arch in your upper back and minimizes the chance of your chest dropping and you missing the lift.
Wait just a minute here! Did I miss something?

I think out of those, I may be the laziest stalker of all time?

I hope the ice cream lives up to expectations. I’m not so sure about the reduced calorie stuff - I found even the Ben & Jerry’s frozen yogurt disappointing because the texture is wrong.
My favourite is a local brand: http://www.simplyicecream.co.uk/

It is basically solid cream with stuff in it. The Christmas Pudding flavour they did at Christmas was just awesome. I could feel my arteries hardening with every spoonful.

I love all the food talk in here. Lol about sitting through church to get food. Sorta like a reward.

Guess I’m a meathead too because I always have a shaker cup in my purse along with various baggies of powdered supplements AND I’ve been taking a supplement that comes in tablets so I get some weird looks in the locker room when I’m downing what appears to be a whole bunch of pills…

Good luck with the deload

Cal- I checked out the site and that ice cream looks delicious. I’m not a fan of frozen yogurt but I actually really like the ben and jerry’s phish food frozen yogurt. The Arctic Zone stuff was good for 150 cals a pint but it it was much more like frozen yogurt than ice cream. I would have liked it to be sweeter too.

Veggie- I’m guilty of carrying around all that stuff too. My purse is some sort of suitcase/gym bag/lunch box/purse hybrid.

When I was heading to the gym I wanted to SFW and was pissed I was deloading. And then I got about halfway through my workout and decided that this week I really need to take it easy.

My deload is setup so that my main lift is 70% of my max and my accessory work is cut in half. I’m more or less free to do whatever as long as I follow those guidelines. Instead of doing my usual accessory work at a reduced volume, I’ve decided to do some lighter rehab type stuff and more stretching and activation work. Didn’t do that today, but I will for the rest of the week.

Yeah, because we both know who definitely DOESN’T do the dishes…

How often do you have to deload?

Each training block is typically 3 weeks with increasing volume/intensity and then I deload. This works out well for me especially because my deloads have been synching up with my cycle and I always feel like absolute shit the first few days before/during that. And then my uterus decided it was going to peace out early this month so I don’t know how things are going to be going from here on out. If I wasn’t in meet prep mode, I’d probably shift things a little to make everything right again. I like to complain about deloading, but deep down I know its good for me.

In other news, I’ve been waking up earlier and earlier lately. Up by 6:30 today. Normally I wouldn’t complain, but this is summer vacation (am I too old for summer vacation? I feel like I am but whatever. I’m gonna be a kid and have summer vacation forebbur). I don’t have to be up early most mornings and its messing with my IFing. Its hard to go until noon before I eat when I’m up by 6 or 7. RAWR. I think I might switch back from my ZMA to melatonin and see if that knocks me out longer.

Yeah, sometimes I have chalk or other gym stuff- shoes, etc- and always food. Yesterday there was 1/2 block of cheese, bag of smoked almonds, bag of raw spinach and a bunch of celery stalks in my bag when I left the house. And I keep resistance tubing in my bag too. Sometimes I whip it out and show patients how to do rehab shit with it.

EDIT: Just re-read your last post. You are NEVER too old for summer vacation!

When I was a kid, my maternal grandmother would carry, no lie, a loaf of bread, mustard, deli meat, and a can or two of soda in her purse. The kicker is that wasn’t food for her, it was in case she ran across anyone who needed to eat during her day. She’s a second generation German immigrant and what’s said is that, if you understand the Western Pennsylvania German culture, that’s TOTALLY normal. I was a fat kid for a reason.

That’s just common for all people who went through the great depression, was an immigrant, &c. My grandmother, Irish immigrant who traveled with German immigrants from Canada down into Eastern Colorado/Western Kansas area and if I said I was hungry…sammich out of the bag from no where. Whatever, I keep all kinds of food in my bag.

I don’t know about the summer vacation thing guys. I’m sure I’d miss it if I didn’t get it. And sure summer means no school stress, but I’m also working less too which can lead to $ stress. 3 months is just a little too long of a break for me.

MIM- yep. It just peaced out. I swear that thing has a mind of its own. Sometimes I wish it just wouldn’t come back.

I hear you on the sleep. I’m WAY disordered. I didn’t really consider it a problem until I started lifting and thinking about recovery and GH production. I’m sometimes awake and posting on T-Nation at 4 am like a KOOK! Grrr… ZMA hasn’t done much for me. I need to pickup some melatonin next. About summer vacation. Are you a teacher? Going to school?

Puff- Sleep issues are no fun. Melatonin usually does the trick for me. And all of the above? I’m a grad student and sub.

Did cardio and abs today and helped SH squat.

treadmill 60 min
avg HR ~120

kb twist 12x12x3

leg raise 12x3

My training wasn’t very eventful, but the manlet in the squat rack next to SH decided that they were competing for something which kept me entertained. SH worked up to 415 or something for reps on box squat and this dude copied his weights on quarter squat. It was quite comical watching him watch SH, check the weights and then load up his bar…

It always cracks me up when people do that. At the old commercial gym there was a father son duo that would follow me around and do what I was doing only 5 pounds heavier. I don’t know what motivates people to do this. Everyone can see that there’s no competition, and the copy cat only ends up looking like an ass.

The way I see it, the gym is where we better ourselves. Where we get shit done and get ready for competition. If you want to compete with someone that bad, sack up, get on the motherfucking platform (or stage) and show everyone what you’re capable of. “Competing” with random dudes at the gym is for insecure little punks.

I like that last bit about competing.

Too many goons at most gyms.

have you thought that training interferes with sleep-
I know captain obvious but I training kills my sleep habbits

ive almost gotten to the point where med induced sleep sounds better than nothing.

better living through chemistry, i say!!
