OP don’t worry about it. I made strength gains in college; so did tons of other people stronger than me, and we all went out drinking plenty often. You don’t have to stop going out on Thursday or Friday or Saturday or whatever. Just keep eating, lifting, and sleeping and you’ll be fine. People can say things about hormone levels and whatever else, I dunno, it was never an issue for me. I think people’s bodies, especially at that age, are plenty resilient enough to handle it.
You can pretty much figure it out for yourself.
I know when I don’t drink at all, I stay much leaner and more focused, and advance faster.
When I do party, I party hard - this year I have binge drunk (20+ drinks) every second weekend (sometimes every weekend) and it definitely affects my lifting.
I’ve had times when I have had to delay a Monday workout to a Tuesday because I feel like shit after not sleeping at all Saturday night, eating badly on Sunday, then barely catching up on hydration, food or sleep before Monday.
I try to time my partying around deload weeks haha.
Having said that, I am going sober for the rest of the year (made a pact with a pal - while very hungover!) excluding my birthday party. So I will see how it helps my progress.
