I like the idea behind it, but it just seems like i will be doing hardly any training. i dont want to undertrain ;[.
can you really get good mass by doing so little? if so why do all split routnes have loads of exercises that keep you occupied for a good 1hr.

Squatting three times a week will catch up with you quickly. If you think it’s undertraining, you’ll change your tune after running the program for a few weeks.
If you are a beginner or intermediate, this is about the best way you can train. When you can do an olympic squat with double your bodyweight, that’s the time to think about moving on to something else.
I did the 5x5 for about 12 weeks. The first 4 are used to get to where you currently are… sort of eases you into the program. For the following 8 weeks, I made an improvement on all of my lifts. It works. Although I did at times feel like I wasn’t working hard enough. But results speak for themselves.
