Bill Roberts - Test Subjects

Hey Bill, if you know of any exercise/nutrition/health studies that require some test subjects, I’d be interested in volunteering. Especially if it’s stuff that could benefit me and my muscle-building goals. Since I’m in the area, it would be easy to do. Just let me know!

nice idea nate dogg, though you live in the wrong place, I live about 20 minutes from kent state, and the kent human nutrition lab, and if I’m lucky I may very well be sucking down pills this summer courtesy of lonnie lowery.

Hi, Nate, thanks for the offer!

I’m not sure it’s possible but let’s look into it. For the most part the testing we do in this immediate area, (as opposed to University testing) is from blood draws on myself, on a doctor friend, and on a friend who is a 4th year medical student. There is a real issue of “informed consent” and being ethical about the testing. I have no problem with myself being a subject or my doctor friends participating, but generally when the public is included the ethical thing is to have an independent review board to approve the whole thing, to make sure that other people also think that your test is ethical and safe. Such review unfortunately is an enormously time-killing process, often wasting 6 months or so. I don’t think you’re
“the public,” having met you at the Orlando seminar, but other people might think, perhaps justifiably, that there was an ethical issue.

So I’m not sure it’s possible but I’ll look into it. There is an interesting test that I’d like to do immediately, using a Biotest supplement already on the market so there’s no question about safety.

Bill,
I would be willing to be a subject too! - Matt

Bill, I understand about the whole review board issue. If there are any studies that don’t require that, I’d certainly help out. I remember when I was a student at UF there were many pyschology subjects needed for various studies people were doing. In fact, I had to do some as a requirement for my pyschology class a few years ago.

As for the Biotest experiment, let me know if you want me to be your test subject. If I fit your qualificiations, I'd be happy to help out. I'm only around the corner, so just let me know. I'm sure Chris Shugart can give you my direct e-mail if needed. Thanks!

bill,i would be interested as well…i’ll even use my own stash of biotest supps i have on hand if they are the ones your talking about…

Good idea, Nate. Hey, Bill, I’m a student here at UF, too, and, if possible, I’d be interested in being a guinea pig also. I’m sure you don’t remember me, but we did chat briefly in Orlando.
