“painting the floor of MY gym” i hate you. there , i feel better now. but when i am meandering into the commercial fitness neon and spandex palace i train at, i will hate you again.

oh large one… what benefit(if any) besides that is a contest event that you need to practice, would you attribute to the viking press over other overhead/upperbody pressing movemnts?[/quote]
I feel that with the viking press I can actually do a type of overload exercise on the shoulders. I can really load it up since it is supported and get a really good blasting to my delts and tris. Sure it takes some of the smaller muscles out of play like when you do regular overhead movements. But I can increase the weight more, get more reps and then when I swtich to regular push press’s or log cleans and press. I feel just a little stronger. Plus, I do rotate or switch these exercizes’s up weekly so I do not get too stagnate.
Hope this helps.

I visted your thread for the first time since I saw you reply on Heavythrower’s thread. I was very impressed by both your gym and your lifting/strongman pics. I wish my garage gym were more like your place. Mine is in one half of a 2-car garage and I have 6 Keiser pneumatic machines + compressor and 1 Power rack similar to yours and 1 flat and 1 adj incline bench. I BP and Incline inside the rack. I squat & DL in the rack as well to save on space. Everything in my gym gives you the feeling of being closed in, but it’s all I have and I’m thankful for it. Maybe I can take some pics of it and melifting and put it in my profile like you and HT. Keep up the training; you obviously have hit on the right combination to be able to balance your strength and local muscle & cvr endurance for the strongman events.
Hey Big James, I’ve read your post. I’m want a 501 1/2. In the dead lift. Sumo style. I do leg work out at least 2 times a week. Heavy and light. Any suggestions?

Sounds like an awesome set up even if it is cramped. It would be great to see some pictures of both you lifting and your gym. I know that the Keiser equipment does not come cheap. So you do have a huge investment. Keep up the good work and I look forward to chatting more in the future.

I need to know a little more, weakness’s, strength’s, stance, injuries etc. That way I could give you an idea. I deadlift conventional style, I have never been a real sumo puller, but my wife is trying a kinda of hybrid stance and it seems to be working more for her.
Get back with me and I will give you my input.
