John U, that’s not always true. See my post about the differences between “Mala in se” (God’s law) and “Mala prohibita” (Man’s law). This distinction dates back to the Middle Ages, and was used to distinguish the King’s legislation (Man’s law) from Papal legislation (God’s law). The Old Testament is another example. The Old Testament contains both moral law (God’s law), and ancient Israelite judicial law (Man’s law). The Jewish dietary laws for example, are judicial. God could care less whether or not the Jews eat pork, or whether or not they put milk and beef in the same refrigerator. Christ confirmed that fact when He told the Jews that their dietary laws had nothing to do with God or attaining Salvation.
