Hi. When I was training Starting Strength I had Squat 3 x week and Bench press 2 x week. I just thinking about squat and bench more in Beyond 5/3/1. Is that good template?
You haven’t even done the program and you want to change it. Amazing. No wonder you have so many questions - because you can’t follow simple directions. God help you if you are somehow able to drive a car or use a stove.
No worries, I’m stick to simplest plan for 5 cycles as I started your training (I mean BBB), I’m going to finish 3 Month Challenge this week - it’s amazing by the way. I saw your templates and similar version as I wrote up is 6 days/week but I just want to pack it in 5 days/week. I follow all your directions and that’s why I am asking about.

Are you still talking about Beyond and a 5-day split or something else? Kind of bouncing around here…
Use whatever template you want. If you want 5x/week, you can do:
m.sq
t.bp
w.dl
r.
f.sq
s.bp
x.
if for whatever reason, you are unwilling to train on the weekends, do:
m.bp
t.sq
w.dl
r.bp
f.sq
Or you can do what I do, and just rotate through the four days (s/b/d/p) and take a day off when you need to. I increase squat frequency by squatting up to the training max before i deadlift. It works very well.

Yes, I am talking about Beyond 5 days a week for squatting and bench pressing twice a week. Nothing changes with principles.[/quote]
Okay then, why are you asking about a 5-day split? Page 42 covers the 5 or 6 day training split for Beyond.
Now, I undestand that I have to choose Bench Press twice a week or Press twice a week. I won’t doing Squat and Deadlift together in same day, but still want to doing Squat twice week same as Bench Press twice a week. Also I need to have free weekends for some time. Ok, summing - Squat 2 x week, Bench Press 2 x week, Deadlift 1 x week, Press (Push Press) 1 x week. I made this template, which is similar to book version:

Man, I really want to training like Jim wrote in his book and I choose 6 day template from his book. My last question is just about TM and DL. I don’t want complicate anything any more. Just wondering about Squat and Deadlift in same day. It should be done both TM or made Squat DL.
The Beyond 5/3/1 approach is the absolute worst approach for a person like you. It is for lifters who are comfortable making their own training decisions.
You need something much more hard-coded. I cannot urge you strongly enough to pick a different way to train.

Agreed. Going back to something like BBB and one of the challenges might be a better idea for you.
