Beyond - Full Body Power Clean Variation

Hey everyone,

I’m coming off the beach body challenge and have really enjoyed that so I’m looking to do something similar for a couple cycles. I was looking at the Full Body Power Clean Variation, Part 2 in the Beyond book. I was thinking about doing a 5’s progression on the main lifts so the program would look like this:

Day 1
Clean 65%x3, 75%x3, 85%x3
Squat 5’s Pro
Dumbbell bench 5x10
Day 2
Deadlift 5’s Pro
Squat 65%x3, 75%x3, 85%x3
Bench 5’s Pro
Day 3
Squat 65%x3, 75%x3, 85%x3
Clean 5’s Pro
Press 5’s Pro

For the assistance work, sticking with Jim’s recommended exercises. Does that look good, and are there alterations you would recommend? Thanks,

I’m doing almost exactly the same but using the SVR template rather than 5’s pro. It’s going well so far.

What are you planning on doing for conditioning?

Right, forgot to mention that. I’m going to rugby practice twice weekly where we’re doing sprints and bodyweight conditioning. Then with just general activity I’m walking a few miles per day.
