Beyond 531 Release?

Quick question, Jim:
On Page 41, Beyond 531, Template 3 - 4 days / week, am I correct in interpreting this as two main lifts per day, 4 days per week?
So you’d do every lift twice instead of once per week… Or do you just mean pick one of the main lifts each day?

Cheers man, really enjoying the read.[/quote]

2 lifts per day - this is shown in the book.

Thanks for clarifying, the forward slashes confused my tired brain.

Just finished reading the book and man I want to train NOW!! ( its 2:40 in the morning over here )
And my head is filled with mental movies of my trying out all the new stuff from the book.

I really liked the look of 5/3/1 SVR training. I think this will fit well with the fall semester.

Thanks Jim for a great and inspirational read.

Good luck this semester - good to see you in school and doing something.

Thank you for the well wishes and kind words.

Jim, if I Cube my 5/3/1 using the old DeLorne System, how long do you think I have before Egon suggests we cross the streams?

Picking it up today. Looking forward to the read.

Never cross the streams.

I’d like to have access to your training library, I’m wondering how many rooms it takes up.

I’ll probably get the kindle version when it’s available.

picked it up the other day. Gonna give it a shot for 12 weeks when I finish out my current training cycle and rehab.

Jim,

Heaps of great info in the new book mate, well done.

I know you’re an advocate of leaving a rep or two in the tank, but apart from when going for a new 1RM, is there any other times where we should be grinding reps ?

Thanks

Is the atomic weight of cobalt 58.9?

Sure…why not? Lifting is hard work. Too many people want it to be easy. If you want easy and injury-free, lifting ain’t the life for you!

It’s mostly just the covers of a couple of training books wrapped around volumes of dirty magazines.

Got it and have read through it twice. Lots of interesting variants and I’ll damn sure be doing the SVR version. That week 3 of heavy singles will be fantastic, followed by a triple cheeseburger at the TIlted Kilt of course. Recovery and all.

I like it.

Rock on.

Fuck yeah! Jim Wendler is posting in the PL forum! Life is complete.

Just wanted to say I fucking love 5/3/1 it is my go to program, I love it. I recommend it to anyone who is half interested in strength training. So simple and effective.

I’ll have to get my greasy mits on this new version now.

Quick question:

Whats the SVR stand for?

Just purchased: “mindblowing” it’s a fucking understatement ! ! !

Glad to see Jim Wendler posting here again.

Had my first session with Joker sets and First sets last today. I was much stronger on the sets after my PR 5/3/1 set than I expected to be, and I left the gym feeling like I’d ticked all the training boxes for bench for that day. Looking forward to Squat day.

Since I’m on the wrong side of 35, I’m gonna stick with those “no challenge” variations like Advanced 5/3/1 and Volume Training for most of my training year.

15 years ago I would have jumped right into Beyond 5/3/1, x7 a week, one lift a day…that programs looks so sexy it gave me an instant boner :-).

Got it too, of course

It’s more ‘template oriented’ than the second edition, which focused more on assistance exercises.

Def. a different book.
