You didn’t answer my question! If you can’t out-act this guy than your size is irrelevant. Show me a guy better suited to play Conan that is bigger than this guy and THEN we can have a discussion.

Then after we settle that discussion we can wiggle our e-peens together, whattaya say?
I might get laughed off the thread but: Dwayne Johnson; Michael Clarke Duncan; Steve Austin; John Cena; Terry Crews. I’m sure there are more qualified fits but that’s all I could think of just now.

I just want to say, I have enjoyed this thread. Probably much more than I will enjoy the movie when it comes out on DVD.
I actually wouldn’t have minded seeing Dwayne Johnson play Conan. I couldn’t see any of the others pulling it off well.
Please. The Rock shrunk. Last I saw him, I doubt he was barely much over 200lbs. Disney movies removed all of “the rocks”.
You and I both know the Rock could put most of that size back on in 6 months or less.
Gotta agree. Come on, X, you know muscle memory would kick in like crazy. Hell, he was over 200 in high school.
I can still hate the fucker for being a part of that “tiny muscled hollywood” bullshit that is only NOW starting to fade away.

He went from SCORPION KING to “TOOTH FAIRY”.

You get much clowning for shit like that.

Err, besides the obvious bad editing resulting in “phantom” cuts on a few people, what was wrong with the swordplay in Arnold’s Conan?

If the new conan starts doing somersaulting backflip sword slashes, I’ll puke.

The original conan film still has something no other films these days have: organic adventure. It looks real, it doesn’t feel like I’m watching a video game.
I’m going home to watch I & II.

I imagine he has already put most of that weight back on, as he looked pretty jacked in his most recent MF spread. But yeah…crap like the Tooth Fairy should not go unclowned.

As Op said - the Frazetta Conan is the Conan I grew to admire.

Jason’ll do alright I think

I agree.

Though I’m pleased that Jason didn’t have the silly bangs from Frazetta’s interpretation. He’d have looked like Bruce Dickinson!

lol

DAMN that looks awesome! I can’t wait!

I almost hate to say it, but from what I see on that preview, this is gonna make Arnold’s Conan films seem like Disney productions.

lol

Dude - no way - not the first one. The first one with Arnold is great.

That said, this does look awesome…Momoa looks good…

haha, well I always kinda thought of the hairdo as practical - keep the hair out of the eyes kinda thing, but yea looking like Bruce or Steve Perry probably isn’t the best thing =P

The first one was great. James Earl Jones nailed Thulsa Doom. I remember being scared of that motherfucker and the whole idea of the cult of Set.

Yup - and the second one was just terrible…

Awesome. I’m Looking forward to seeing this. I would’ve prefered Momoa with a little bit more mass, a la Arnold, but nevermind…

Looks good. I hope they don’t abuse the 3D.

fixed and agreed.

The movie looks good but if its not rated R it’ll be pretty lame.

Awesome! I saw on the website for the trainer that it said it wasn’t rated yet which usually means it’s higher than they wantand they’re working on bringing it down a rating… But that’s awesome. Since it’s rated R I bet it’ll be bad ass.

The only thing I didn’t like about the trailer was when he did the classic Arnold Conan pose with the sword up and he looked a little small… But besides that it looked sick

I have to admit, I felt the same way.

On the other hand, I kind of wish Momoa was absolutely shredded to appear more like a hungry fighting machine. He’s a tad bit too soft for how the warrior should look, IMHO.
