What are the brands that are worth it??? the guys at complete nutrition told titan is good, a friend of mines sat optimumnutrition is the best…
Never heard of Titan. Optimum is probably the most popular as far as sales #s go. Fairly inexpensive, and seems to be a decent quality.
What I’ve used in the past, and been content with (as I only used blended powders and straight Casein Hydrolysate these days) have been:
- Biotest (good quality, good price, ok taste as I went with the original ‘natural’ flavor)
- Cytosport (a little watery, but the choc mint tastes pretty good)
- Scivation (watery and not the tastiest, but you can get it very cheap in 10 lb boxes!)

The best whey protein on the market today is called “proto whey” its whey hydrolisate.(sp)
If your looking for a blend, some really good ones are: myolean evolution. myotein, protean.

If budget is a concern, and you’re in the U.S., I’d go with Grow! whey mixed into homemade weight gainers (with fruit, milk, whatever). If you’re outside the U.S., get whatever you can afford, but keep in mind a lot of the time cheap protein powders are cheap for a reason.
In any case, make sure those shakes are in addition to plenty of good meals everyday.
