Best Time To Do Tabata?

Does anybody use the tabata after your workout or in the off-day, and which one is better?

I did them in the middle of the workout as a change of pace, but after the “normal” squats.

I’d say on a non-training day would be best, followed by after a workout.

Also, I wouldn’t do them while greatly restricting calories due to the stress on the nervous system.
