Best Shoes You've Ever Bought

no offense but the only people I see wearing Vibrams happen to be doing crossfit.

Air Jordan XXI but they were 175 shoes (I got em on sale) so comfortable.

Should I invite you to my basement while I do my deadlift workout?

But to your point, they are good for running, lifting, cross training etc… Just because someone wears them for crossfit does not mean you should not wear them. If someone from crossfit is wearing shorts, are you never gonna wear shorts again?

I hate CrossFit, but the shoes are a god send. My feet are as flat as the floor so normal shoes wreck my body standing all day.
I would have paid $200 for these shoes.

LOL at the Vibram Five Fingers “only see them doing Crossfit” dig. I rock them on the regular at the gym to do my leg & DL shit. Get asked about them everytime basically. When I tell them, “Yeah, these things are pretty good, I got them here for $80+, check it out & see for yourself” I get the “deer in the headlights” look.

I’ve taken to telling them I’m a ninja that got let go in some corporate downsizing. But if you have issues with them you can always go the Chuck Taylors route

Touche’

Vibram’s, and Adidas Sambas. I work out in a gym where I can go barefoot, so I do that most of the time and wear those when I don’t.

Got agree with the Vibram’s. Got two pair myself.

To add to my post lol how we are passing by the OP’s original ? which is “best shoes” for running + basketball.

In my experience if you’ve got the budget go for a separate pair for each sport; running takes a toll on shoes while in bball the cushioning has to be there for hard landings, change of direction, lateral support, etc.

Try Asics, Saucony, Mizuno or New Balance for running, maybe Brooks etc. Nike usually makes sexy crap that looks good but performs subpar although there are a few models that live up to their purpose (Bowerman series, Air Max Vomero 4+, etc. Get into a running store & try some out. Ask serious runners what they roll in & see if it works for you.

Bball wise Nike, some Reebok & Adidas decent & you are good to go; again it’s about your style of play, your build (if you are a swift guard or a tank in the painr banger) Lots of shoes can be ahd on the cheap online, eBay or outlet shops.

So many variables. Bottom line your running is going to suffer if you use a running shoe for shooting hoops & vice-versa. You can try a cross trainer style but again, use the right tool for the job & you should be ok.

Hundreds of shoe models & styles out there from as many manufacturers that will work for you. Good luck.

Actually I would reccomend he Run and B-Ball in vibrams. His feet will get stronger, his calves will get WAY stronger and thus his ups will be better. He will learn to run and jump with proper mechanics, not heel striking the landings, thus making him more agile and saving his knees from the typical beating they take with normal running and basketball poundings.

OP if you have never worn vibrams, and you don’t do much specific jump training, I think you will be amazingly surprised at how much these will work your calves. I used the strength shoes back in HS and they DO add inches to your vertical. Well when I ran for the first time in vibrams, my calves were as shot if not more taxed as when I used to do the strength shoes.

If you have 80 bucks at your disposal, I would give them a shot. If I could go back and be a HS student, I would wear vibrams to school everyday. They would be awsome for all my sports too, Track, volleyball, CC.

Hands Down, best “footwear” you can own.

My second are the diesel Line, they offer some rediculously comfy leather “shoe-sneakers” with a very minimal sole. I kinda feel like a stylish indian with a soft leather upper and a tiny padded sole. I bought one and immediately wore them in the shower and then walked around all day in them. The leather shrunk a little and formed right around my foot. No pressure points, just snugness everywhere.

X2, the Vibrams are the best shoe ever, they cured my shin splints and healed my sore knees. Vivo Barefoot shoes come in second.

Remey, there is a bunch of different remey styles though, Mine were the all leather, like this, only blue and grey. This black one is nice though.

It’s a joke broski.

On the Remy’s, that is a Danish show no? Walking shoes or something. Anyways, it looks really nice and I haven’t found SHIT online about Remy Diesels. Where do you get them from?

plus 1 on the vibrams and diesels,
have those diesels vegita pictured and another pair with softer leather that i prefer for non snow, already gone through a pair and they hold up really well.
vibrams for running tho or anything really (except maybe the snow), nothin compares to em

For anything but lifting: Adidas Wanaka GTX. Perfect grip, incredible cushioning and they’re even waterproof.

I actually just stumbled upon them in a store in my mall called Journey. If you know where a journey is you might find them there. Also they could probably order them for you.

Here is a link for google shopping that pulled up some online places to buy them.

Also I see you said you have a 12" foot, I don’t know if you meant size 12 or actually 12 inches, but a 12 inch foot is approx size 14. Here is a link to the black diesels I posted on ebay, size 13 for 80 bucks. They retail for 120 so it’s a good deal and you want it to fit snug so the leather forms around your foot. You might give it a shot but I don’t think you can return shoes from e-bay.

Also it looks like Zappos carries quite a few diesel models. I don’t see the remy, but I got mine like 4 years ago, so they may be a discontinued line. It looks like they have some comparable models though.

Vibram’s are awesome, pick some up. For more protected shoe needs I love Keen…

I just got a new pair of Vibrams after wearing a hole through my last set of KSO’s which i wore almost every day for a year…

I decided to try the KSO Treks (kangaroo leather) ones with a 4mm sole that has an actual tred so I stop slipping on stuff when its wet out. They are amazing. Best shoes I have ever worn and in black leather most people dont notice they have toes. I also ordered a pair of the blue camo KSO’s for deadlifting since I like the way they look and could not decide.

Kangaroo leather = awesome !

Dude: Vibram KSOs for ball? The opposition will DESTROY his feet when he bangs inside contesting a layup or snagging a rebound. He could probably play pickup with people he can trust not to stomp on his pinkies. Last time I checked my KSOs they were lightweight (good for lifting & running), NOT built for hardcore balling. (I can only presume in the OP’s case) In any case if it’s just shooting & practice I can see him getting away with it (training yes, actual playing, no) as long as it doesn’t alter his mechanics too much. If Vibram comes out with ball shoes I’d be very interested. That’s why I haven’t seen too many guys on the court playing in Frees. Not enough padding from the other guy’s feet lol
