Best Protective Equipment

Hello fellow combat sports practitioners, I’m back on T-Nation and looking for a little assistance. My problem is this; head gear and groin protectors, which are the best? I need to keep it under $125. Does anyone have suggestions, experience, reputable gear review sites? Thank you in advance for the help (I’m looking at you Irish).

Title do good gear, no question, but I understand they may be a bit pricey.
If you look online Lonsdale do some good stuff for value.

sherdog has a very nice gear forum. What is it for? MMA?

A couple of guys at my gym use RDX fight gear from B2 fitness, e bay UK. They like the stuff and seems to be good quality for a fair price.

The shipping is super fast to Canada, likely just as fast to the US, like 4-5 days.

So far I’ve checked out the shin pads RDX Shin Guards Kickboxing Training Muay Thai Instep Leg Pads MMA Foot Protector | eBay ,

MT gloves RDX 10 oz. Weight Training Gloves Boxing Gloves for sale | eBay

and these fight socks RDX MMA Socks Non Slip Yoga Boxing Grappling Pilates Barre Martial Arts Workout | eBay

These appeared decent quality. I have not used any personally but the 2 guys that use this brand are constantly getting more equipment from them and are happy with each purchase.

TopKing : Gloves, Headgear, Shinguards

MMA Gloves: Hayabusa

groin protector? Get a steel muay thai cup and get used to having a string up your ass. Don’t trust your nuts to tupperware.

Good to see you back bud!

My headgear is the Title Classic competition style that I picked up from a dude who ordered two by mistake, and I gotta say, it’s pretty comfortable. There’s very thick padding - thicker than other headgear I’ve tried - and it’s a solid fit.

The only thing I might change is I’d like a bit more on the cheeks, just because it makes my nose feel safer, but then the more limited padding helps you see the punches a bit better. So it’s a tradeoff in that respect. It was like $40 and I think it was a damn good deal.

As far as groin protectors, fuck, I just use the Title stuff that’s in the gym. Rarely do I catch a groin shot in sparring, and guys aren’t trying to fuck you up like they do in the ring.

I’m not a huge fan of their gloves anymore, but as far as protective gear goes I give Title the nod.

Completely forgot about this thread, so I must be getting old. Thanks Irish, I’ll check out the headgear!
