I would argue there is no best nutrition for a particular sport. The nutritional strategy one should follow depends on the current need of the individual person. Need to loose fat? Need to add muscle?
With the possible exception of triathlon, marathons, and other extreme events I don’t know think it is necessary to adjust nutrition intake for a sport. This does not include, of course, making sure to stay hydrated and such during an event.

Go buy John Berardi’s “The Grappler’s Guide to Sports Nutrition”. It is probably the most comprehensive guide to combat sport nutrition available.
