Nature made (available at wal-mart) : $6.15/100 caps = .06/cap
Serving: 2 caps:
Dha = 288mg / serving (144/cap)
Epa = 360mg / serving (180 / cap)
Ratio of DHA (Biotest/nature made) : (1156/cap)/(144/cap) = 8:1
Ratio of EPA (Biotest/nature made): (550/cap)/(180/cap) = 3:1
Take 8 cheap pills to the Biotest 1 pill. The Biotest serving is 4 pills, that??s 32 cheap pills.
The cheap pills are $0.06 each, 32 of those is $1.92. One 4-pill serving of Flameout is $1.36.
There are pros and cons to both sides. I take 12 of the cheaper ones because I didn??t notice a difference when I switched a few months ago. There is a bit more of a fishy-ness to them?but its tolerable.
Prices of the ??cheap?? stuff will vary thanks to the internet. Also, each brand probably has a different DHA/EPA ratio … . so do your math.

I wasn’t always taking Flameout of course, beforehand I was taking ‘Carlson’s Very Finest Fish Oil (Lemon Flavor)’.
I was extremely impressed with the quality of the Fish Oil they had, and I still am.
The reason I stopped was because the complex in Flameout is outstanding; which is why I think in terms of Fish Oil…Biotest probably distributes the best product.

The cheaper ones don’t have CLA, either.
I’m sticking with my Flameout.
actually i think that the type i currently have has some CLA in it; not sure how much…i’m assuming its not as much as Biotest.
i wonder how the hell they get different fish oil with such greater ratios?? where are these superfish coming from?

I think they distill it to concentrate the good stuff. I have no idea what they do with the rest of the oil.
i take Flameout with maximuscle maxi-efa and sometimes i cycle them both… no need but what the hey… coming from the uk its not always easy to get Flameout

Well, I think most here would agree Flameout is the best value for your dollar. I certainly do. If you haven’t already read the article on it in the T-Store.
D
I went to order on-line for the first time ever and Flameout is backordered. *&^%$()!
Flameout is roughly 10 times as concentrated as the cheap shit and roughly 10 times as expensive so it is a pretty good price and requires less pills.
With free shipping now in place I was psyched to give it a go.
And we now use emulsified fish oils. They’re much better absorbed.
Forgive me if I recap:
Flameout is so highly concentrated, one capsule equals roughly about 8 or 9 regular grocery store capsules.
Flameout also contains CLA, which as most of you know, is one bad-ass oil that some studies suggest is fat-burning and muscle building (in addition to having all kinds of health benefits).
Flameout contains no heavy metals
We offer free Fed-Ex shipping, regardless of the size of the order.
Flameout now use emulsified oils, which are far better absorbed than conventional oils.
Flameout is the only oil (we think it’s the only oil) that contains higher amounts of DHA than EPA, which makes it better suited for men (there’s an inverse relationship between DHA and Testosterone levels, so men need more DHA).
So yes, I think they’re really the best value and the most elegant.
I use Flameout and Carlsons Med-Omega 2800 Orange Flavor in conjunction. And I feel pretty good about it. When I do the concentration break down of $/gram Flameout either beats or comes damn close to most competitors. Throw in free FedEx and i’m pretty convinced that I’m making a good choice.
Flameout hands down, its the only fish-oil supplement I take that can alleviate or eliminate bouts of tendonitis, ligament strain, and aches in places that occur due to heavy lifting, high volume, and getting a little rabid at the gym. That is my personal take on it. It has also facilitated in successful rounds of cutting when I wanted to unload a few percentages of body-fat.

It’s not the only oil. I know of at least 2 other brands that have a higher amount of DHA than EPA. Of course neither has any CLA…
Now that Flameout is made with emulsified oils, I might have to order me another couple of bottles and see what happens.
