Best Film Monologue Ever?

My vote is for Nicholson a few good men with Samuel Jackson in Pulp Fiction as second place.

and samuel

This monologue was written into the film Glengarry Glen Ross specifically for Alec Baldwin.

Starting at 5:30…

Are you guys serious?

Those aren’t bad but there are much better ones. Let me think a bit…

This one is excellent

starting at about 1:30

“life passes most people by while they’re making grand plans for it.”

Not exactly a long monologue, but that one line managed to have a impact on my life. I was never the type to sit around and hold off on doing things to begin with, but now whenever the situation arises, I remember that line and ask myself whether what I’m doing is living, or planning to live. Personally, I’d rather live. Still gotta make sure I got the resources necessary to keep enjoying life in the future, but I’ll be damned if I gonna sit around and make excuses for not doing something.

Life is too short and time is the one thing that can’t be found once its lost. My parents died pretty young, always saying they were gonna do this and that, and they never had the opportunity to.

Hell, Im only 27, and I’ve already been to most of the Hawaiian islands, the Republic of Kiribati, been to three continents, swam in the Pacific and Atlantic, stepped on the edge of the Grand Canyon, fought in a war, raced motorcycles, skydived, bungie jumped, been in newspapers, been to jail, married a doctor, weathered Hurricane Katrina, been through a number of earthquakes, protected my house from wildfires, won and lost championships, etc. And I plan to keep going until its all done.

Gotta live this life till its over. Only one here on earth you got.

“Dude, where’s my car” is full of great moments.

Apocalypse Now
Col. Kilgore

“I love the smell of napalm in the morning.”

I don’t know about the best ever, but funny as hell.
Christopher Walken in Pulp Fiction.
